Discover Chuo City: Congratulations! The world's best chicken basket @ Ginza Candle
Hello. I'm the active correspondent Hanes!
There is only a few left in 2019 in no time.
When I went to Azabujuban on the last weekend of the year, I found Ginza Candle, a shop that originated chicken baskets, which have lived with Ginza for more than half a century.
With a history of Chuo Ward, who has been a gourmet for about two years, I started with the expectation that "Because it is named Ginza, it may be related to Ginza", and as a result, it became an opportunity to learn about Chuo-ku from outside Chuo Ward Was.
This time, I would like to explore the charm and history of Ginza Candle.♪
Many signs left by that celebrity
This time, we bothered you at Bar & Dining Pertica, the first basement floor of a building in Azabujuban, which is "reviving" only during lunchtime from water to Sunday.
Ginza Candle, who lived in the Ginza 7-chome building until 2014, decided to dismantle the building and closed.
Since then, they have been offering “chicken baskets” at events, etc. irregularly, but since they were sold out, many fans have expressed their desire to revive.
That's right!
As you may know, Ginza Candle is one of the famous historical stores loved by literary writers such as Yukio Mishima and Yasunari Kawabata, stars such as Akihiro Miwa, movie actors, singers, etc.
The restaurant has a calm atmosphere with a total of about 15 seats, including table seats and counter seats.
As the signboard says FRIED CHICKEN, the signboard product has been popular since Ginza's founding, "original!" Chicken basket that is said to be the most delicious in the world!
It is said that it was the first time in Japan to offer chicken baskets found at a diner in the U.S. base.
Currently, the number is limited because it is rented, but you can take a closer look at some of the 300 sign cards of many celebrities who visited the Ginza era at this table.♪
The history of Ginza is very tasteful, from Yukio Mishima, the signatures of Akihiro Miwa written as "The Universe", to those with the seasons written in 1958, and those with mainly candle paintings instead of the signatures.
This time, I dare to put only one photo.
I don't think you can tell the goodness unless you actually see it, so please take a closer look inside the store ^^
By the way, after confirming how the fan base was wide, we will have the exquisite chicken that has been published one after another in famous magazines!
Chicken basket called the world's best and the universe's best.
Ginza Candle, which was reopened by the third generation owner at the end of October 2019, uses carefully selected young birds from Kagoshima Prefecture, high-quality breadcrumbs and vegetable high-grade oils that have not changed since Ginza was founded.
In addition, it is a fried chicken shop that is easy for people who don't go to a fast food restaurant like me because of the addition of chemical seasonings.
Menu (free to bring in drinks)
The menu is as shown in the photo, and the shop owner says that there are many customers who order a 3-piece set of fried chicken first and then add it.
Also, as a decisive factor when ordering, there is a way to choose whether to make a sandwich or a fried chicken set in terms of whether to eat bread or not.
I was worried about not only chicken but also buns, so I decided to have a sandwich this time.♪
After a while, I came out in a cute basket!
The first thing I thought was, "The surface of the buns looks shiny and delicious!" Two points, "The onion and lemon are fashionable!"
According to what I heard, the buns are baked on Nanbu iron and the outside is baked fluffy inside.
It was an unexpected discovery that we had such a commitment before we arrived at chicken.♪
And the essential sandwich is coated with mustard etc. in advance.
However, unlike the mustard of the most common fast food restaurant, the exquisiteness that makes use of the chicken itself rather than scrapping out the taste of chicken itself.
It's nice to be able to add onion and lemon depending on your preference or at your preferred timing.
And what you should not forget is chicken!
The clothes are thin and the meat is about 1.5cm thick, juicy and enough to eat.
So it was a light finish that didn't make you feel any oily at all.
It was just right for seasoning, and it was a mysterious fried chicken that reminded me of the word "healthy".
According to a woman's regular, it's "It's light and easy to eat and want to repeat."
And you may be able to eat "gratin", "hamburgh", "omelet rice", "apple pie", etc., which were gaining popularity like chicken baskets at the time of its founding, if you are lucky! ?

Ayumi in Ginza
Now that your stomach is filled with exquisite chicken, let's look back on Ginza Candle's history in Ginza.
Going back in 1950 (Showa 25), this shop was founded on Ginza Miyuki Street.
At that time, Yasunari Kawabata sometimes came to eat with Yukio Mishima.

The photo also shows Morinaga's "Ginza Globe Neon" as a symbol of Ginza, which makes you feel the reconstruction of Japan after the war, indicating that it was a very good location.

Chuo-ku is now undergoing redevelopment in a wide area, but there are still restaurants, antiques, antiques, antiques, antiques, etc. that Yasunari Kawabata and Yukio Mishima visited as regular customers.
After enjoying the chicken basket of that time, which was revived in the present age at Ginza Candle, be sure to visit Ginza, which also serves as a "pilgrimage to sacred places."♪
You should be able to enjoy it differently while thinking about the age of post-war reconstruction.
Last but not least, thank you very much to Ginza Candle for cooperating with the interview despite the New Year.
