Hamarikyu Onshi Garden New Year's Kotobuki Suwa-ryu Hotaka

On both January 2nd and 3rd, from 11:00, I went to the annual Suwa-ryu Hotakatsu at the Hamarikyu Garden.

Before the hawk release event, an ancient Japanese martial arts, self-defense techniques, and model performances of "Aikido" were performed.

And there were introductions of falconers and students, and introductions of their favorite falcons.

"Watari", etc., released from the arm of the falconer to the arm of the student, were performed.

German men, wonderful foreign women, and courageous Japanese men who participated in the tour also participated in the experience.

And finally the hawk was released from the top of the building toward the garden.

From January 2019, the building that emits hawks has been changed to the rooftop of the Hamarikyu Mitsui Building.

I was able to capture the video of the moment I was released, but I couldn't shoot the moment I hit the prey on the ground.
