Chuo-ku at that time to know on an anniversary-May edition-
Hello. The active activity for a while is Hanes (Hanes) on holidays.
May this year as well! The fresh wind blew, and the fresh green was a vivid season.
This month, I would like to introduce the history of Chuo-ku, using the anniversary as a clue.
(Please note that the scenery in the photo you are using is not like spring or early summer due to refraining from going out!)
Lamune Day (May 4)
On this day of 1872, Katsugoro Chiba started manufacturing and selling commercial ramunes.
He was not only a Shintomiza, but also a large theater such as Ichimuraza and Chitoseza, but also a person who has heard the name because he was involved in the opening of Kabukiza with Genichiro Fukuchi and became a manager. You may come.
Ramune started manufacturing and selling by such a person related to Chuo-ku, but did you know that lemonade was accented?
Back in 1853, the lemonade, the prototype of Ramune, was introduced to Japan.
When Admiral Perry arrived in Uraga, a lemonade was served to the officials of Edo shogunate, but there is an episode in which the officials misunderstood the rupture sound that occurred when opening the stopper as a gunshot and put their hands on the sword unintentionally.
It's an episode unique to Edo at the time of isolation!
Later in Nagasaki Prefecture, Japan's first lemonade was made as "lemon water", but it is said that it spread and became established as a lemonade with an accent.

In the first place, when lemonade was introduced to Japan, it was plugged with cork instead of marbles.
However, the bottle with a unique shape containing marbles unique to that lamune began to be used because the carbonic acid was removed.
In fact, this was invented by British engineer Hiram Cod!
In English, it is called "cod bottle" or "cod neck bottle" after the inventor.
(The Ferris Wheel is the same as Ferris Wheel after the inventor Ferris.)
If you remember, it may be useful to introduce Japanese ramune and its history to foreign tourists visiting Japan who enjoy summer festivals.♪
It was a bit of a story, but when lemonade was introduced to Japan, of course, they used foreign bottles.
However, in Japan, where manufacturing has been excellent since that time, relatively quickly manufactured domestically produced bottles (bottles) of high quality that surprised the authentic U.K.
(Reference: Dragonfly Drink "What is Ramune?")
When you grow up, you tend to lose your chance to drink ramune.
However, this summer it may be good to look back on the history of Chuo-ku and enjoy the lamune bottle, which can be said to be the crystal of Japanese technology at that time, with all five senses.♪
Toruya Anniversary (May 16)
This day of 1894 is the anniversary of Tokita Kitamura.
As many correspondents have written in this blog so far, he is also a person who is related to Chuo-ku.
It is famous that I went to Yasuaki Elementary School near Sukiyabashi.
And, as Mr. Jute of the senior correspondent Shufu introduced, his pen name was "Sukiya" in Sukiyabashi as "Sukiya", and then read it. It is said that it became "Tokokoku".
I'm somewhat happy as a central inhabitant that it's related to Chuo-ku even to the pen name.
Now it's a convenient world, and it's now possible to read literary works in e-books.♪
Why don't you take advantage of Golden Week to pick up his work?
