Opening of ARTIZON MUSEUM

The Bridgestone Museum of Art, which had been closed for rebuilding since May 2015, opened on January 18 in the 23-story building "Museum Tower Kyobashi" as ARTIZON MUSEUM. "ARTIZON" is a coined word that combines "ART + HORIZON", and according to the museum's announcement, "There is a willingness to want many people to feel the horizon of art that opens up the times." The museum's opening commemorative exhibition is "Sightseeing sight-current location of collection".

I went out immediately, so please report it.

The admission system has changed, and it is a "date and time reservation system". Then, how to purchase and reserve a ticket.

①Book a date and time from "Purchase Tickets" on the museum website. Choose from four time zones (five Fridays) separated every hour and 30 minutes according to opening hours (10:00-18:00, Friday until 20:00). This time I chose 212:00-13:30.

②Enter your name, merad, and credit card information for payment.

③You will receive an email with the URL in the specified e-mail address.

How to enter

①Enter from the entrance on the first floor, there is a locker on the second floor, and the usage fee is 100 yen, but it will be returned.

②The earphone guide is free if you download the museum app on the WIFI connection. (Don't leave your smartphone and earphones with lockers.)

③Present the QR code on the 3rd floor, receive a security check and enter.

④The exhibition hall is from the 6th to the 4th floor. First, go to the 6th floor. The 6th floor is on display with the theme of "expanding art", from mane in the 1870s to Soulages in 2000. From Picasso and Monet's works familiar with the previous Bridgestone Museum of Art to Mark Rosco and Yayoi Kusama. Fragments of mosaics of the 5th and 4th floors and ancient Romans, pots of Raster Aya in Iran, vases of Gare, bottles of Jingdezhen, etc.

There are also observation decks on each floor, and you can enjoy a panoramic view of the city. The reservation time is admission time, and you can enter at any time during this time. There is no time limit until the museum closes after entering the museum. As for the staff, there is no cafe, so it may be a bit tight until closing (laughs).

In Japan, it was common sense that "1-2 hours waiting" was a popular exhibition, but this system is very epoch-making. On the day I visited, it was a very luxurious time to be able to enjoy my favorite works to my heart's content. If the web reservation is not full, you can enter on the day.

○It seems that congestion can be avoided if you enter a little later than the reserved admission time.

○There are no group discounts or senior discounts.

This is Shojiro Ishibashi, the founder of the collection, "For the enjoyment and happiness of the people of the world." Even during the museum closed, the collection will increase to about 2,800 points. It seems that the exhibition space has been doubled, and the ceiling is high and spacious, and the work feels like it is spreading. Photography inside the museum is free except for those that are prohibited. It seems that "I have relatively room now," so please go to the new Artizon Museum now.

I didn't have time to stop by the cafe on the first floor, so I would like to bother you next time.
