Harumi Athlete Village Walk in the Future
It is only half a year before the Tokyo Olympics are held. I heard that the building of the athlete's village in Harumi, Chuo-ku was built, so I looked at it from the rooftop of Toyosu Market, Koto-ku, opposite the Harumi Canal.
There are no cranes that used to be countless in the past, and the building of the athlete village is facing the Toyosu market.
Unlike ultra-high-rise apartments that are popular in Harumi and Kachidoki these days, they are built at a calm height. The sky is wide, isn't it? It's a disappointing view today because there are many clouds, but if it's sunny, the sky and Harumi Canal are blue, so I think a more pleasant view of the clear sea spreads out in front of you.
Today, I would like to walk from this Toyosu Market to the Harumi Athlete Village area on the opposite bank.
Before that, be prepared at Toyosu Market
More than a year has passed since the Tsukiji Market moved to Toyosu. Actually, I haven't entered the Toyosu market yet, so I'm ready here today.
I was worried about the relocation of the curry shop "Nakaei" in Tsukiji Market, which I had introduced in this blog post before. So today I'm looking for the curry shop.
Previous blog post → ★★ Here★★
The atmosphere of the shop has changed, but the taste of curry has not changed at all. It tastes like this. 。 。 It's a very nostalgic Indian curry because I haven't eaten it for more than a year. The manager's voice echoed as before, and I miss this too. 。 。 I was relieved by the boom as before. The atmosphere of the store has become a breeze, so I felt more young women than in the Tsukiji era, whether it became easier to enter the store.
This shop was founded in Nihonbashi in 1912. The taste of curry is backed by this history. There is no doubt that it will continue to satisfy tourists and fish shores.
Cross Toyosu Ohashi to Harumi, Chuo-ku
By the way, I would like to walk to the area of Harumi Athlete Village from here, but I need to cross that Toyosu Ohashi.
Harumi Canal, do you know how wide it is?
I didn't know myself, so when I looked at the map, it was about a 4-chome intersection from Ginza-doriguchi intersection on Ginza-dori.
This means that the city from 1-chome to 4-chome in Ginza will be buried in the Harumi Canal. Considering that, it is a bridge that spans one bridge between it, so it can be said that it is a bridge longer than it looks.
After visiting the fish riverbank water shrine, we crossed the bridge and arrived at Harumi. There will be a walking path between the new building and the Harumi Canal, but it is still under construction.
Once completed, it will be a calm atmosphere, so I'm really looking forward to the night view seen from here. When it is completed, I would like to come at a different time someday.
It is a new town of Harumi that can be seen immediately after crossing the bridge. After being used as an athlete village, it will be used as a house, but at first glance, I felt the nostalgia of the housing complex boom in the Showa era.
Originally, Harumi was once a pioneering place where the Harumi Danchi High-Rise Apartment, designed by Kunio Maekawa, was built as a test stone for high-rise houses. Considering Harumi here that sparked the subsequent housing complex boom, it may be said that the scenery has returned to the origin of the high-rise housing.
Find the place I took 5 years ago
Five years ago, I wrote on this blog a pre-construction article for Harumi Athlete Village.
→2020 Tokyo Olympics, Harumi district 2020 days ago
Now that the Olympics are less than 200 days before the start of the Olympics, nine-tenths have passed since that. It's fast. There was a picture of Harumi's chimney that I took at that time, but I decided to look for what the place I took was now.
Maybe it's around here. 。 Five years ago, there weren't many buildings and it was quiet, but now when you look around, you are surrounded by a new building, and there is no atmosphere at that time. After the Olympics, I've heard that more than 10,000 people will live, so the area will be lively.
Please see the details on the website of the Tokyo Metropolitan Urban Development Bureau.
Harumi Passenger Ship Terminal, which is said to be closed
I headed to the Harumi Passenger Ship Terminal and came to the observatory that I climbed five years ago.
You can see the market of Toyosu, which was just before, on the opposite bank. The scenery seen from here has also changed a lot over the last five years.
I've heard that this Harumi Passenger Terminal will still end its role as a terminal, though it's still a long story. This terminal was built during the bubble economy, but since then it has served as a gateway to Tokyo by welcoming many passenger ships from around the world. However, we are constructing a terminal in another location because the passenger ship has become larger and cannot pass through the Rainbow Bridge.
But I think the facilities of this Harumi Passenger Terminal are quite impressive. It's a waste to break it. I have built a lot of buildings to live around, so personally, I feel that it would be nice to be used as a cultural and calm facility.
At this terminal, buses arrive and depart at regular intervals. I walked to the city of Harumi, but if you don't have time, it's convenient to use this bus.
The bus also runs from the south exit of Marunouchi, Tokyo Station, and you can take the bus bound for Harumi Wharf from the Ginza 4-chome bus stop. As the Olympics approaches, the general public has heard that they will not be able to enter the athlete village area during the Olympics, so if you are interested, we recommend that you come before that.
