Photographer Tadahiko Hayashi was born in Tokuyama City, Yamaguchi Prefecture (now Shunan City) as the eldest son of the Hayashi Photography Studio, which his grandfather opened in 1897 in 1897. During the war, he played an active part in the front line, focusing on magazine gravure pages. In particular, he is known for portraits of artists such as Dazai Osamu and Ango Sakaguchi taken at the bar "Lupin" in Ginza.
The photo above is the portrait of Dazai Osamu, a representative work by Tadahiko Hayashi. In 1946 (1946), when I was taking Sakunosuke Oda at the bar "Lupin" in Ginza 5-chome, it was said that "I can take a picture", and there is a famous anecdote that I shot using a flash valve that only one remains It is a work that remains.
23 photos taken in Ginza in the 1940s and 1950s are on display. Among them are portraits of Shintaro Ishihara and Yujiro Brothers, Hidemitsu Tanaka, Sakunosuke Oda, Ango Sakaguchi, Kenzaburo Oe, and Yasusuke Gomi. Tadahiko Hayashi left the phrase, "There is nothing more realistic in future generations than in photographs." Please feel the various implications that deepen over time through snapshots of the Ginza area taken from the post-war turmoil period to the reconstruction period, focusing on photographing humans and their lives throughout your life.
Japanese women depicted with the unique touch of "cut eyes", "large earrings", and "tight hair", which symbolically represent women's beauty in the TV commercial "Cosmetic Renaissance" series of Noevia cosmetics, gave a vivid impression. The illustration artist Ichiro Tsuruta's "2020 Edition Noevia Cosmetics Tabletop Calendar" is being presented to one visitor. However, since the number of copies is limited, it means that it will end as soon as it runs out, so please come as soon as possible.
