By the way, this building suddenly appeared at the intersection of Harumi 3-chome last fall!

What is it? What is it? I was worried about it.

This is "CLT PARK HARUMI"

A strong "tree" scent that you feel first when you enter the facility.

I had the impression when I went to Japanese cypress wood bath such as inns. Every place is made of "trees" and has a wonderful atmosphere.

[This facility was designed and supervised by Kuma Kengo Architects and Urban Design Office and developed, designed and supervised by Mitsubishi Estate Group using CLT materials provided by Maniwa City, Okayama Prefecture in Harumi, Chuo-ku, Tokyo. For about one year until the fall of 2020, it will be operated as a base for communicating the appeal of CLT and transmitting culture and information, and will be relocated and used at Hiruzen, a national park in Maniwa City. As a new way to utilize CLT, we aim to recycle resources and culture between cities and regions by realizing a sustainable structural system that can be relocated and sustainable. ]

It was written in the official brochure.

So what is CLT? When I was wondering, this was also explained in the brochure.

[CLT (Cros Laminated Timber) is a large-sized wood panel in which a wooden board is bonded so that the fiber direction intersects at right angles. It is a new building material developed mainly in Australia, with more stable strength than conventional wood panels, superior in earthquake resistance, heat insulation, fire resistance, etc., and can be used for large-scale construction structures.

In other words, the entire large building is made of CLT wood.

It smells like a tree.
