"Gifts and Enjoy yourself" is Rosemary Sea.

A show window that was introduced in an article on "Early Spring Edo Town-Nihonbashimuromachi-" by Kozaru-Up on January 10.

As you can see in the image of the store at the bottom, there is a very eye-catching show window on the left side of the building of the hair salon Ono Group's shop "Tsuyadashi Dedicated Honten".

Although it is still in the tentative name stage, it is said that it is "Edo's hairstyle collection and history of barber / development of the Ono group".

There are 16 types of chomage in the foreground, and "Barber History Walk" and "Ono Barber Shop-Hea Salon Ono Group History" are also written in the back.

Next time, we will introduce the "History" in the back, and this time we will introduce the "Dongmage" in the foreground.

This is a work created by Mr. Katsura Yamada, commissioned by the Hair Salon Ono Group.

I think that Katsura Yamada often sees it in movies and drama end rolls.

Especially in historical dramas, it has been famous for a long time.

Katsuragi Yamada, who manufactures wigs, Tokoyama hair and makeup, was founded in 1926.

I am in charge of a wide range of hair and makeup such as TV dramas, movies, theaters, operas, ballet, wigs, beards, etc.

This time, Mr. Etsuji Ono, representative of the Hair Salon ONO Group, took care of us.

First, I would like to introduce 16 types of chomage.

Ginkgo head ...

It is the same type as 'double-folding' that came to be connected during the Muromachi period.

The brush tip was spreading out like a ginkgo.

In the early Edo period, it was widely tied to samurai and the general public, and young people had a long and thick topknot, and when they were older, the topknot became shorter and thinner.

Cicadaori...

The mage style was popular in some societies from Tenna to the Kyoho period.

It is shaped like a cicada by narrowing the tip of the brush and shifting the tip of the topknot upward.

The people who tied this hair were sumo wrestlers, kyokaku (Kyokaku: a toseijin living in a kyoku), and Yuyaro (Yuyarou: prodigal), and many men and women joined.

Numage ...

The mage style of his servant, etc., has been favored among samurai since the Warring States, for example, the spirit of simplicity and simplicity.

This topknot is a manifestation of the spirit.

The topknot was thick and short, and the moon was large, and many samurai warriors and merchant decchi were tied.

Otokomage ...

In the early Edo period, the hairstyle of men was "Two Ori", and this was simply called "Otomage".

The length of the mage was long and large for young people, but after Genroku, it became generally smaller.

The protruding of the bin (bottle) began in the Kanei era, but the left and right bins flowed behind to make a mage.

Wakashumage ...

In the early Edo period, "masculine" became popular, and young people Kabuki played by beautiful boys (young people) became popular.

The characteristic of this hairstyle is that the topknot is large, the forehead and the motodori stick protrudes and skewers are skewered.

Among them, the most attractive part was the front hair.

The front hair was also thought to be a testimony of masculine.

This hairstyle was subject to strict crackdown on customs, and in 1652 (1652) a ban on Maemage was issued.

Bakuro-mage ...

In 1652, young people Kabuki was banned and became bastard Kabuki.

The young people called the hairstyle that shaved their bangs "bastard mage".

This name was given because the topknot was particularly large.

Echibubin (literally, plectrum)

The bin is shaped like a bee of a shamisen, and one theory says that it was started by Joruri Tayu in the Hoei era.

However, it was a customs that had already existed in the Tenna era, and middle-class townspeople and merchants made this bin a variety of tastes.

Tatsumatsukaze ...

This hairstyle was created by Hachirobe Tatsumatsu, a puppeteer of Joruri at the end of the Kyoho period.

When you turn around when you send a doll, you don't like to go inside the collar, raise the roots of the mage, and stop many original knots with winding wood and needles.

The tip of the hair is short and the tip is thin, making it a shape that points to the head.

Nihon Daemon Gate...

Nihondaemon, the head of the "Shiranami Gonin Otoko" appearing in the Kabuki Kyogen "Aotozoshi Hananonishikie" by Mokuami Kawatake.

The model is the thief Hama Shimanoshobei, a real roman who existed during the Enkyo (1744-48).

At that time, he was named after a bandit, Nippon Saemon, who appeared in the Joruri "Customs Taiheiki" in Toyotakeza, Osaka.

With a bag...

Tabo (cannot be converted into kanji, the same as hair and mage, and the word 'bao') is the part that protrudes to the bottom of the back of the head.

Although it is an inconspicuous part, the "with bag" with inflating the hair at the back of the head was a hairstyle common in townspeople.

And the oil with oil, whose hair was flattened with oil, was the shape of a samurai.

Gokenin...

The gokenin of the Edo period was a lower-class samurai who could not see the general, that is, see the general.

Since the middle of the Edo period, rich townspeople and farmers have become adoptive children of the poor family with a large amount of money and buy family status.

The gokenin who sold the family status was called "gokenin misrepresentation".

Bunkinpu Miyako Road Wind ...

It is a hairstyle that began to be linked by Joruri, who became popular during the Kyoho year, and his tayu Miyakoji Bungoroku.

Genbun Koban, which was also called character gold, was issued, and the hairstyle that began to become popular was called "Bunkin style".

The roots are slightly changed from the Tatsumatsu style, and the roots are high and sloping. Bamboo skewers are placed at the tip of the brush, solidified with oil, and the hair of the bin was raised to prevent cracks.

Full hair...

It is a form that ties a mage without shaving the moon.

In the case of women, the same kanji "Total hair" is read as "Sogami" instead of "Sohatsu" when you are a man.

It does not require maintenance of the monthly fee, so it does not require labor.

In the early Edo period, it was a hairstyle for doctors and scholars, but in the late Edo period it became popular as a common hairstyle.

Sakamoto Ryoma and Yoshinobu Tokugawa also had this hairstyle.

I'm sorry...

The rogue, the unyorikan, and the brave skin scattered the tip of the topknot and pointed it up.

It does not add much oil, tie it with only hair, only the topknot is plump, and the brush tip is scattered and pointed upward.

It is a hairstyle that looks like it was tied one day to two days ago, but this was considered stylish.

It is a hairstyle that is favored by valors of brave skin.

Great ginkgo...

Today, it is known as a hairstyle tied by sumo wrestling Sekitori.

It is a hairstyle that has a thick topknot on the whole hair and lowers the butt.

Ginkgo mage is named after the shape of ginkgo leaves.

Ginkgo mage is a thick bundle of hair, long tip of mage, and long butts.

This was liked by the samurai.

On the other hand, the townspeople liked the small "small ginkgo" even with the same ginkgo mage.

It can be said that it was divided by occupation.

Soga chasen (a tea whisk) ...

Among the total hairs found in late Tokugawa shogunate Shishi, the characteristic of chasen was that the tip of the mage was scattered.

It is characterized by the fact that there is no moon age and the hair is scattered.

・・・In addition to "History", we will introduce the concept of "Machikado Exhibition Hall" by interviewing Ohno representative.

   Please look forward to it.
