2020 SAKURA FES NIHONBASHI / OFF TO MEET

From March 15th to April 5th, the annual spring event "Nihonbashi Sakura Festival" is being held in the Nihonbashi area. This year, the seventh year, has been partially changed and implemented in response to the spread of the new coronavirus infection. While inheriting the genealogy of history and tradition, it combines cutting-edge urban functions, and is dotted with cherry blossom spots such as "Edo Sakura-dori St.", "Nihonbashi Sakura-dori St.", "Ajisai-dori St.", and "Ajisai-dori St.", a culture that loves cherry blossoms has taken root. This time, under the theme of "OFF TO MEET = going to meet", various contents that can only be experienced here and here are being developed, touching the value of the real world.

A digital art work "The Tree Of Light -" with the motif of a cherry tree appears at Cored Muromachi Terrace Oya Square. About 100,000 LEDs mounted on each of the approximately 8,000 leaves are interactive illuminations that change the way they shine over time and shine in colorful colors. On Nakadori, which leads to Fukutoku Shrine between Coredo Muromachi 1 and Coredo Muromachi 2, there is an installation work "Nihonbashi Art Street - Kotoba Namiki-" with the motif of "weeping cherry tree" that uses words swaying in the wind and music overflowing in the city. The main facilities along Chuo-dori are decorated with "Sakura Light Up", which dyes cherry blossoms, creating a fantastic sight. In addition, approximately 120 stores in the Nihonbashi area are planning to offer a restaurant menu with cherry blossoms as a motif, entitled "Sakura Menu Walk".
