Sprinkling by Shigeru Tsukuda

When I want to give a little souvenir to a friend, I would like to introduce one dish and gem that I choose without hesitation.
That's the pretend of Shigeru Tsukuda.

Mr. Shigeru Tsukuda

Shigeru Tsukuda sprinkled by Shigeru Tsukuda

Along the Shin-ohashi-dori St. in front of the main gate of Tsukiji Honganji Temple, a sign like a stone pillar attracts attention. The chic shop is Shigeru Tsukuda of Tsukudani, founded in Ansei 3 (1856). Speaking of Tsukudani, Tsukuda Island is Tsukuda Island, but my favorite among many famous shops is Shigeru Tsukuda in Tsukiji.
While paying attention to the box packing for souvenirs of the showcase, my goal is to "Shigeru Tsukuda's Sprinkling Wa", which sits on the case. I remember that I noticed this item because the catchphrase "Furikake made by Tsukudaniya" was the first trigger. Since then, it's just a little bit. It is useful not only for the standard of our home but also for souvenirs to friends and hometowns.

Favorite reason

Favorite reason Shigeru Tsukuda's sprinkle

The reason why I like it is, of course, delicious! The strongest tsukudani mix with Ami, shiitake mushrooms and kelp with white sesame added. The balance of sweetness and spiciness is exquisite, and white rice goes on, whether it is placed or mixed, hot or cold.

Next, it's easy to carry. As it is a pack, you can take it without worrying about leaking juice or smell. Both those who bring it and those who receive it can put it in the bag. It is easy and convenient to store after opening.

And the size. I'm worried that I would like to combine various kinds of souvenirs. I will give you two or one living alone in the same generation as me. In that case, you will not be able to eat a lot. I'm grateful that the amount that can be eaten with the Tsukudani mix recently has become abolished. The 5 Ami subdivided packs discovered just recently are also very thankful items in terms of small quantities.

The standard of my home

Our standard dish of Shigeru Tsukuda

There was a standard derived from Shigeru Tsukuda, long before this pretending became a standard in my home.

I think it was shortly after I married, but my mother-in-law shared the assortment of Tsukudani from an acquaintance (probably) Shigeru Tsukuda, which I received from an acquaintance. That container is this tub. It is made of Japanese Spanish mackerel wood with a length of 29.5cm, a short diameter of 22.5cm, and a height of 6cm, and a copper taga. Since I couldn't afford to throw it away in a splendid container, since (it's more than thirty years?) I use it as a rice pad. A standard item that is indispensable for the hand-rolling of my home, when there were children, I used a separate container, but now it is just the right size for living alone. The brand seal of "Shigeru Tsukuda" is still vivid, and it has been too dry and has come off, but it has been restored properly. The shop told us that Japanese Spanish mackerel is water resistant, lightweight, and has little smell of wood.

 Sprinkling by Shigeru Tsukuda

I came to stop by Shigeru Tsukuda without being conscious of the container, but I think it was a mysterious connection. When I talked about this to the shop, I was told that Shin-ohashi-dori St. was made at a shop called Okesen, which was located around Tsukiji 2-chome, now on the north side of Shin-ohashi-dori St. toward Shintomicho. I was He said that he did not use such containers anymore after Okesen quit. It seems that my house's rice stand is actually a board stand. I will use it carefully!

It seems that he was forced to leave for seven years due to World War II, but he heard that it was reopened at the current store in 1949, and that the taste of Tsukuda tradition can be widely conveyed for a long time. I bought a pretend on this day and went home.

I am grateful to Mr. Shigeru Tsukuda for teaching me a lot, and for permission to take photos and post blogs.
