Please take a look at the many exhibits where you can feel the wind of Oomi.
This time, we also took care of the manager of Kiya Nihonbashi Main Store Kaneko.
At the same time, Ms. Miyako Oba, who is in charge of izutuki, also explained.
Then I would like to introduce some items.
All prices are tax-included.
The Idea Note is ...
A handicraft general store with a shop in Omihachiman City, Shiga Prefecture.
The main product is vintage parts, but this time we have items centered on hemp, Takashima canvas, Hama Chirimen Crepe, and Lake Biwa pearls finished in Oomi.
Oomi's hemp ...
In the Muromachi era, it began with the name "Takashimafu", and in the Showa era, it became a traditional craft as "Oomi Jofu".
Hemp becomes softer and stronger as you use it, so it is better to use a lot.
Please put it in the net and use the washing machine.
Lake Biwa Pearl...
It is said that pearl cultivation began around 1946 in Lake Biwa.
Ikechogai is the largest shellfish that inhabits freshwater, but it is used to increase it over about 6 years.
The characteristic of this pearl is that the inside of the pearl is made of a pearl layer, which is hard to scratch and durable.
The shape is not just a round one, but it has a taste.
The color is also different.
※ A common pearl inserts a core shell and wraps a pearl layer around it.
Takashima Hanpu ...
This canvas has been produced for a long time in Takashima City, located in the northwestern part of Shiga Prefecture.
In the Edo period, the material used for sailing ships traveling around Lake Biwa is durable.
It was used to draw water during the war.
The more you use it, the more you feel.
For care, it is good to dilut the neutral detergent and soak it in a cloth.
If you put a waterproof spray at the beginning of use, it seems that care will be easier.
Hama Chirimen Crepe...
Chirimen Crepe is a mixture of twistless warp threads and strong twisted wefts.
Hama Chirimen Crepe is a traditional industry in Nagahama City, Shiga Prefecture.
Along with Tango Chirimen Crepe in Kyoto, it is the two major production areas in Chirimen Crepe.
It has a long history and has been woven since the middle of the Edo period.
It is a very high quality fabric, so it seems good to be cleaned.
Shiga Rakiyaki (Shiga) ...
Pottery made mainly in Shigaraki, Koga City, Shiga Prefecture.
Because it is made of coarse soil, it is durable and has a reddish brown skin peculiar to Shigaraki ware.
It has a long history and began in the Nara and Tenpyo eras.
When you start using it, boil it for about 15 minutes with rice grinding juice, and usually wash it well to prevent mold before drying.
