About Chuo Ward Kyobashi Library, until now

February 19 "Mr. Sugawara of Kyobashi Library Regional Archives"

March 23 "Ayumi of Kyobashi Library and Regional Archives"

I have posted it.

This time, entitled "The Future of Kyobashi Library", I will briefly explain the relocation plan to "Book Forest Chuo (tentative name)" currently under construction.

Mr. Kenji Sugawara, Chuo Ward Kyobashi Library, provided some cooperation in preparing the materials.

Then...

"Tachimoto no Morichuo, Chuo-ku (tentative name)" is ...

This complex is under construction on the site of Tokyo Labor Square in Shintomi 1-chome.

The building will be built six floors above ground and one basement floor, the Kyobashi Library and Time Dome Akashi (Local History Division) will be relocated, and a multipurpose hall and cafe will be added.

It seems that there is a plan to set up a Daddy Mom Corner on the east side of the second floor, a children's area for infants and elementary school students.

And it is said that there will be a space for children to play on the plaza adjacent to the children's area and on the terrace with artificial turf.

It is said that consideration will be given to securing the reading space on each floor and improving the soundproofing performance of the local reference room.

In other words, the Kyobashi Library, which has a history of 100 years, will change significantly toward the future without maintaining its current form.

And taking advantage of this, it seems that the company plans to abolish the direct management of the library and introduce a designated management system. .

What is the designated management system?

To put it simply, privatize the new library and further reduce the number of ward staff.

Even now, some of the counter sections where you enter have already been outsourced, and Kyobashi, Nihonbashi and Tsukishima have been outsourced to private libraries.

However, the operation format is still directly managed by Chuo-ku.

It is a plan to leave this to a private designated contractor until operation.

According to the explanation of Chuo-ku, "For book materials, we will collect and properly preserve a wide range of materials regardless of profitability and topicality, and will continue to strive to respond to the diversifying needs of residents of the city. . [Overview of opinion for book forest Chuo (tentative name) and way of thinking of ward ...] ", And it seems that the reference (examined) work is "according to the needs of the user."

However, among the inhabitants of the ward,

〇 I am worried that changes in management will continue to benefit

〇 I wonder if important materials will be destroyed.

〇 Wouldn't the material that was familiar to me be locked?

There seems to be a request to maintain the quality of the service as a direct management even if it is relocated.

In any case, it seems that various exchanges of opinions are still being exchanged, and in fact, it seems to be on the table to consider.

In the use of the regional archives and the entire library, it is a lighter rosmary than many people, but I want to watch the future.
