Play in Edo in Hiroshige
-Kaei era, Ansei's scenery "Hundred Famous Edo Views" ~

Hiroshige Utagawa is an ukiyo-e artist who has a deep connection to Chuo-ku, such as living in Ogamachi (Kyobashi 1-chome) with his second half.

This book is a structure where you can relive the 119 famous places drawn in "Hundred Views of Famous Edo" with Edo Kiri-e and modern pictorial maps through Hiroshige's gaze and the eyes of the people drawn in Ukiyo-e. I have.

The cover accurately tells the charm of this book.

Ukiyo-e of "Ohashi-no-Yudate" in the center.

Below it is a cut-out picture of the Tenpo era.

JR and subway stations and railroad tracks are added to the picture, and the modern location can be guessed.

At the base of Shinohashi in the picture, an arrow says, "Hiroshige drew a famous place from here."

It can be seen that the Shin-ohashi Bridge over the Sumida River is a figure overlooking the Fukagawa area from the Hamacho side.

Shinohashi has a heavy pier with a heavy weight.

Since the old name of Ryogoku Bridge over the upstream is Ohashi, this bridge was named Shin-ohashi Bridge.

The depiction of rain, in which vertical and diagonal lines intersect, represents its intensity.

People running in a hurry in a sudden shower.

Wearing an umbrella or rather, running out with a tail.

The rain clouds stand dark and hazy the ship storehouse on the opposite bank.

The area around this area was called Ataka because the Shogunate charterer Ataka Maru was moored.

At present, the relief embedded in the main tower in the center of Shinohashi is based on this ukiyo-e.

It is well known that the Dutch impressionist painter Van Gogh, who was greatly influenced by the ukiyo-e paintings of Japan in the Far East, copied them with oil paintings.

I purchased this book at Time Dome Akashi.

Since the greeting paper for the special exhibition was sandwiched, it would have been the flow since I saw the exhibition.

With the scenery of Edo that Hiroshige boldly cut out and the easy-to-understand explanation, he was holding this book with faint excitement.

After purchase, I put it in a paper bag without inserting a fold and kept it at the back of the document.

Recently, I was refraining from going out as much as possible, and I met again while organizing materials that were piled up.

It's a nice book to have with the thoughts of the author and editor.

For a while, I enjoyed a time slip to the Edo period from a famous place in Tokyo that I walked around my hobby town.

"Tsukuda Shima Sumiyoshino Festival"

Correspondent "Silver Fox 007" wrote on a blog on February 26 about the relief of Tsukuda Park, which was asked for a sightseeing test.

As a matter of fact, I had a very similar misunderstanding.

I fell into a trap set by the subject.

In the Chuo-ku Tourism Test, "Hiroshige Utagawa"-related questions are given with a high probability.

After knowing that, I prepare for the exam, but I don't get the correct answer every time.

It's not compatible with Hiroshige-related issues.

Do you want a card of "Tokaido Gojusanji" that was attached as an extra for instant ochazuke for young children, and like Hiroshige enough to eat it?

He also went to exhibitions and organized the catalogs neatly.

Yes, originally, Hiroshige Utagawa should not be taken up as a subject of the examination question.

Yeah. I'll stick all three reliefs of Ukiyo-e.

 ・・I've got over it.

Let's go back to the main subject.

It is said to be 100 views of Edo, but 119 views were drawn more than 100.

A series of works based on a certain theme, called matching.

Edo is full of famous places that cannot fit even if you try to put them together.

The people of Edo were applauding the serialization.

According to the chronology, production began in Ansei 3 (1856).

It was completed in Ansei 5 (1858).

The scenery of Edo more than 160 years ago.

Along with Katsushika Hokusai, it is painted by Hiroshige's last-year brush, who developed ukiyo-e landscape paintings.

In the same year, Hiroshige died of cholera, who attacked Edo in late Tokugawa shogunate at the age of 62, as if he had seen its completion.

A test that can be overcome

What comes from late Tokugawa shogunate's cholera is Motoka Murakami's manga "JIN-nin-".

It was made into a drama starring Takao Osawa, and the highest viewing rate at the moment of the final story was 29.8%.

The time when the main character brain surgeon "Mikata Jin" slipped back in time was Bunkyu 2 (1862).

late Tokugawa shogunate, which caused a series of storms and floods in major earthquake.

The measles epidemic spread, and cholera spread like chasing.

Even in that era, effective measures were to wash hands, keep the body and clothes clean, and provide sufficient ventilation in the room.

And Haruka Ayase, who plays Tachibana Saki, shouts.

"Mr. Minakata, this is Penicillin!"

That's right. "God gives only the test that can be overcome."
