Globe-shop at Ningyocho
I wanted a globe as a birthday present for my 8-year-old grandson, so I visited and presented a gift at Globe-Shop, Nihonbashi Ningyocho. I had been worried about passing in front of this shop when I was a guide in the neighborhood of Ningyocho for a long time, but I was thrilled to be able to visit for this. The stores specializing in globes are unique and valuable in Japan, so I would like to introduce them to you. (Of course, we have accepted the introduction permission from the store.)
From basic learning to stylish interiors, to full-scale large globes are available. Not only the Japanese version of the globe, but also the English version of the globe. It is the only globe specialty store in Japan where you can experience the popular talking globe and floating globes. Originally, it started on the Internet, but it seems that he opened a brick-and-mortar store because he wanted to actually feel the size and shape of the globe. The store is always decorated with about 300 globes, which is spectacular. In addition to shopping in the store, mail-order sales via the Internet are also possible.
The first store was located next to Shigeru Kami in Nihonbashi Muromachi, but since January 3, 2016 (Sunday), it has moved to the current Ningyocho and continues its business.
Current address: 1st floor of Nippon Sunrise Building 1-5-1 Nihonbashi Ningyocho, Chuo-ku, Tokyo (in front of the signboard of the Saigo Takamori House at Nihonbashi Elementary School)

A globe presented
Since his grandchildren are interested in celestial bodies, he presented a globe made of a globe and a moon globe (see the photo on the left, the small sphere under the globe is a moon globe). When the power is turned on, the globe replaces the "celestial body". It is an advantage that the three types of globe, moon globe, and astronomical objects are integrated and do not take a place, but it is also interesting to see the emergence of a planetarium when power is turned on. My grandson is delighted and takes care of it. I hope that the reputation of "Jiji" will remain high.
Let's go to the planetarium in Akashicho next time.
There are other interesting globes on display in the store.
A globe that can be played with a smartphone or a rotating globe.
* Interactive globe via smartphone (pictured on the left):
Earth ball where you can enjoy real-time changing earth images when you hold your smartphone over the globe. By downloading the app to a smartphone or tablet, information about the ever-changing "clouds, rain, and temperature" on the earth is updated in real time. It is a state-of-the-art globe where you can feel the present of the earth as seen from the universe. You can download the dedicated app for free. The app is packed with content that can be enjoyed by adults as well as children, such as the world flag, dinosaurs, world breakfast, and night earth. It is also ideal as an interior of the room.
* Floating and rotating the globe (photo on the right):
It is a mysterious globe that rotates semi-permanently using solar energy and the magnetic force of the earth without using any batteries or power supplies. The acrylic pedestal with a design that floats in the air further enhances the appeal of the globe. It is a gem that is also recommended as a stylish interior.
It seems that the target of customers as stores is ordinary people and companies. During my stay for less than an hour when I was disturbing my grandson, two groups of families came to the store. It is a store where you can easily enter, so please enjoy it!
