"Takashimaya Archives TOKYO" has been opened. ―Nihonbashi Takashimaya
The Takashimaya Archives TOKYO opened in March as a branch of the Takashimaya Archives located in the Osaka store on the 4th floor of the main building of Nihonbashi Takashimaya. "Nihonbashi Takashimaya and Togo Murano" exhibition is being held as an opening commemorative exhibition. I asked you right away.
Designed as the first important cultural property of a department store in 2009, this building was completed in 1933 as a store with two basement floors and eight floors above ground, and was designed by Sadataro Takahashi. This is a special exhibition focusing on Togo Murano, who was in charge of the four extension design (1952-65).
The first materials are on display, such as the initial drawings drawn by Sadataro Takahashi, the extension drawings of anvil that was interrupted by the war, and the extension drawings by Togo Murano, who inherited Takahashi's design. I knew for the first time that this building was built as the Nippon Life Center.
It seems that the store in 1933 had a reputation for copying "hot place in Tokyo, where I left Takashimaya", but this poster is also on display this time. "Summer health equipment (air conditioning throughout the building)" and "Mother's love is cooler than the sea." It makes you feel the time.
Lectures and symposiums commemorating the opening are also planned and can be applied from the website.

The exhibition will be held until May 26th. 11:00 to 19:00 Takashimaya Main Building, 4th floor free to enter gallery space
At the same time, I would like to see this logo. It was so wonderful that when asked who made it, the curator asked Dr. Denchu Hirakushi when the "Osaka Historical Museum" opened. It's perfect for the atmosphere of the "History Museum".
