enshrined deity

Kura Inatama Life (Kano Mikoto: Commercial guardian angel)

The main life of the enshrining great power (Okuninushi Mikoto: Daikoku-sama), the chief of the affairs (Kotoshiro Nushi Mikoto: Ebisu-sama)

In 1878 (Meiji 11), the Tokyo Stock Exchange, the predecessor of the Tokyo Stock Exchange, was established here in Kabuto-cho, and it was built as a symbol of the religion and guardian of all exchange officials.

The name of the god is the calligraphy of the then Minister of State, Minomi Sanjo.

(Mr. Sanetomi Sanjo: during his tenure as Minister of State, Meiji 4 to Meiji 18)

The land was relocated once after the Imperial Sai, but in 1927 (Showa 2), the land was relocated again, and the shrine hall was built at the current location at the base of Kabutobashi, and was relocated.

In 1969 (Showa 44), the former shrine hall was dismantled following the construction of the expressway, and the shrine hall with reinforced concrete, Ikama-sha style, and worship as of 1971 (Showa 46) was rebuilt.

The roof was copper-plated, and granite was used for tamagaki and approach paving stones.

・・It is written to summarize.

History

On the map of the 1845 edition of "Kaedegawa Armor Site Study", "Armor Inari (It is said that the origin of worshiping Heishomon)" and "Kabutozuka" were depicted, and it seems that they already existed as a fishing guardian in the area at this time, as well as at the base of Nihonbashi.

In 1871 (Meiji 4), with the relocation of Tokyo Shosha (a trading company that was the predecessor of Mitsui), Armor Inari and Kabutozuka were transferred between Armor Crossing and Kabuto Bridge.

At this time, the divine spirit of Yoshiie Minamotono, who was enshrined as a Kabutozuka, was founded and worshiped as a Kabuto Shrine, and merged with Kabuto Inari to be newly designated as Kabuto-cho's guardian, Kabuto-cho.

In 1874 (Meiji 7), the god of worship was changed, and the religious service of Yoshiie Minamotono, enshrined deity was abolished, and a new lord of the Mitsui family (auxiliary shrine, the land owner of Kabutocho 1-chome) worshiped.

In 1878, when it was founded, the Tokyo Stock Exchange and the subsequent Tokyo Stock Exchange became representative of shrine parishioners, and since then it has attracted the trust of the securities industry.

・・I would like to add it to you.

The Kabuto Bridge has now been removed.

The Kaede River flowing below will be reclaimed in 1965 (Showa 40), and according to the plan, it was removed along with the Shipping Bridge in 1962 (Showa 37).

Supplement

At the base of the nearby "Yoroihashi", an explanation board of "Armor's handing trace" is installed.

"Watering of armor" was a passing place where the legend of Yoshiie Minamotono casting armor remained.

In the old days, the name is also written in the pictorial map of 1676 (Yonho 7), and it is a ferry that survived until the armor bridge was built in 1872 (Meiji 5).

According to the "Edo Famous Pictures", during the Heian period, Yoshiie Minamotono was hit by a storm here on the way to attack Oshu, but when he put a piece of armor into the sea and prayed to Ryujin, he was able to cross safely. Legend remains.

Kabuto-iwa

 ~ Kabuto Shrine~

There is "Kabutoiwa" on the left in front of the company. The stone in the foreground is written as "Kabuto stone".

The following three theories are explained, after the fact that the origin of the god of commerce "Kabuto Shrine" is "There is nothing to support ...".

(1)

When Yoshiie Minamotono returned from Oshu, buried the helmet on the banks of the Kaede River in order to settle Toi, and called it "Kabutozuka" as a single mound.

(2)

In the role of the last nine years, Yoshiie Minamotono prayed for victory by wearing a helmet on the rocks of the eastern expedition.

For this reason, this rock came to be called "Kabuto Rock".

"The role of the previous nine years" is said to be from 1051 (Eijo 6) to 1062 (Kohei 5).

(3)

In 940 (Tenkei 3) Tawarato Hidego (Hidesato Fujiwara) hit the neck of King Hei (Taira no Masakado) and brought it to this land along with his helmet, but buried the helmet here and made it a mound.

So he called this "Kabutoyama."

In the second "explanatory board" of the image, the theory of (2) is introduced.

It can be seen that it has been maintained.

It's a great place.

The "god of commerce" Kabuto Shrine and the junction of the expressway are hung like a ribbon.

1-12, Nihonbashikabutocho

Exit A5 of Ningyocho Station and go to the right.

A little over 400m, cross the traffic light on National Route 4 and Edobashi to the left.

It's on the left and 150m left in front of Nihonbashi Post Office.

In fact, it is close to Nihombashi Station and Kayabacho Station.

You can get there in about 400m from either station.

Next door is the former Eiichi Shibusawa House and Nisshokan.

If you go 150m further, you will reach the foot of the armor passing mark and the armor bridge.
