The tea tree situation in Chuo-ku, which is worried about the season of new tea.
Hello. Recently, the active activity is Hanes on holidays.
It celebrated 88 nights on May 1st, and it was a delicious season for new tea. ^
When it comes to tea in Chuo-ku, in addition to a long-established tea shop, you may think of the Chanogi Shrine in Nihonbashi Ningyocho.
However, this time I broadened my horizons a little and asked, "Is tea grown in Chuo-ku?" I would like to introduce the tea tree situation in Chuo-ku, which seems to know and do not know, such as "Is there any tree that can be made of tea among the trees planted along the road or in the park?"♫
"Tea tree" is literally derived from! Chanogi Shrine
As I mentioned lightly at the beginning, Nihonbashi Ningyocho is the Chanogi Shrine, which is included in the Nihonbashi Seven Lucky Gods tour course. (Seven Lucky Gods is Mr. Hotei.)
Some people may actually visit and know, but in fact, the origin of this shrine literally comes from the "cha tree"!
The Edo period. This shrine was enshrined as the guardian deity of Nakayashiki, Sakura feudal lord Hotta family in Shimousa.
And around the shrine, a tea tree was planted around it.
In such a shrine, which is popular with locals as "Ochanogi-sama", a Fushimi-style Inari is enshrined, and it was in 1985 that it was enshrined with Hotei-son, which is now widely known.
Now it has become a shrine in the city, but you can imagine the state of the time from the tea tree planted in the precincts.
If you include Sanbancha, there are places where tea is picked up until mid-August, so I hope you can go out freely.
I'll dig a little more! Tea Trees in Chuo-ku
Next, "Is tea grown in Chuo-ku?" I would like to delve into my simple questions, such as "Is there any tea tree planted along the road or in the park?"
First of all, regarding the cultivation of tea in Chuo-ku, I have heard that there is a project to grow tea on the roof of a department store.
The only project that utilizes the rooftop was honey!
It seems that a tea picking experience is also held every year, but unfortunately this year it will be canceled, so we will refrain from details.
However, I would like to interview you someday and introduce it on the correspondent blog.
And another question is, in the answer, it's "Yes."
This is a tree called "spicebush (black letters)" taken at Asashio Canal Water Park.
(Currently, there is a request to refrain from going out. About the use of park, please follow instructions of Tokyo and Chuo-ku. )
The trees in this park are ornamental, but the leaves of spicebush can be tea, and some antenna shops in Chuo-ku sell black tea.
Personally, I like the relaxing scent and taste of this tea, which can be said to be the "Japanese herb", and I often buy it for gifts.♪
However, this spicebush is not only tea, but Harumi Madame says, "I have an errand in Yoji!" As you introduced in the high-end black toothpick Nihonbashi "Saruya" toothpick、It will also be a fragrant high-class toothpick!
It may be a tea tree that is not very familiar yet, but it's hard to keep an eye on making it delicious and making it a toothpick and elegant.
This time we picked up only spicebush, but in Chuo-ku, where there is an infinite possibility that even grapes grow on the sidewalk, there may be other trees that become tea.
Someday I would like to walk around the city with a focus on plants.
