Ino-zu, a journey beyond space and time
I want to walk around. However, thanks to COVID-19, I couldn't go on a trip around the castle ruins every year! 。 declaration of a state of emergency is an extension and I have no choice but to endure a little more!
That's why I thought I would go to a castle tour of a different form.
In the summer of 2014, there was a large exhibition of "Ino Daizu" at the gymnasium of Hamacho Park in Chuo-ku, but at that time I took some pictures of the map. I would like to use it to return to the castle I've been to.
First of all, a place related to Chuo-ku in the Tohoku region. Do you know where it is?
It is around Higashine, a friendship city in Chuo-ku. The area around "Kanizawa Village" on the map is around Cherry Higashine Station where the Shinkansen stops, and the area around "Miyazaki" is around Higashine Station, a local station. The Tokyo area is south, so it's right.
Tadataka Ino's survey squad traveled for 17 years from the first survey in 1800 to the tenth in 1816. I passed Higashine City during the third survey in 1802. I go north from Edo to Aomori, go south along the coast of the Sea of Japan, and return to Edo from Niigata.
The "Red Line" is written on the map, which means the place where the surveying squad walked, and the "Red ○" above the place name means the inn station. There are circles in Miyazaki and Muda. I'm actually staying in Miyazaki.
In addition, "Red ☆" under Miyazaki indicates that astronomical observation was performed at night. The surveying squad also observed stars to understand the current point (process). I walk in the daytime and look up at the sky at night. It must have been a busy trip.
In the lower left of the map, there is a circle with directions written. Actually, there are different uses for this circle.
Ino Daizu is huge, so you need to combine several pieces of paper when you look at it. For this reason, he wrote a semicircle on the joints of the paper, and together these semicircle when the paper and paper were aligned. It is obvious at a glance when you look at the Izu Islands part of the ninth survey.
By the way, the important point is "Is there a castle ruin in Higashine?" There is a castle ruin called Nagatoro Castle. In the days when Tadataka walked, there was the Nagatoro clan, a small clan, and Yonezu of feudal lord seemed to have used it as a mansion.

It is also written in Inozu on the lower left of Miyazaki, but it is now a quiet residential area. If you look at Google Maps, you can see the square streets and Mizubori that still remain today.
Next is this place, the Chugoku region. It's a lot of information, but do you know where it is?
It's around Okayama Castle. In fact, Tamano City, Okayama Prefecture, an exchange city in Chuo-ku, should be located further below this map, near the south, and at this time I worked hard to find the letters "Tamano". However, in the end, I was worried about Okayama Castle, which I couldn't find it, and I took a picture of Oka Yamanomachi around the castle along the river.

By the way, the name of "Tamano", but when I checked it later, I found that it was a name born after the war. It's natural that you can't find it.
The survey team first passed through Okayama in 1806, the fifth survey. I'm spending the New Year here. At this time, the support of the Shogunate was also increasing, and the Shogunate ordered each clan to provide information on the land. However, some clans seem to hate it in national defense, and some clans have reduced the description of map information. However, looking at this map of Okayama, it seems that it was favorable for the surveying business because it is a huge number of characters.
The interesting place to look at the map is around the lower right of the map. The "Red Line" of the survey team is walking on the sea.
In the Edo period, Okayama was engaged in the construction of a large-scale spillway for flood control and the reclamation of the sea where the water was discharged. The surveying squad was walking on a weir built to separate freshwater and seawater.
Looking at the map, I thought it was similar to the current city planning of Tokyo. Would the red line on the weir be around Fukagawa in Tokyo? I will also post the Ino map around Edo. The enlarged map is around the mouth of the Sumida River in Chuo-ku. The Eitai Bridge is also written, can you find it?
By the way, on the trip to create Inozu, you can see, but not only walking along the coastline, but also surveying the main trunk line. Also, roads that have not been surveyed are not written on the map. Do you know where Nihonbashi is the starting point of Gokaido?
Next is Kyushu. Speaking of castles, it's here.
Hamacho Park in Chuo-ku used to be the place where the Shimoyashiki of the Higo Kumamoto Domain used to be. Yes, it is Kumamoto Castle, the residence of Mr. Hosokawa. I visited this area for the first time in 1810 in the seventh survey.
The Ino Corps would have been overwhelmed. The magnificent stone walls and numerous towers of Kumamoto Castle built by Kato Kiyomasa are also represented on the map.
Kumamoto Castle Uto Ogura (2011)
Kumamoto Castle is said to have been designed as a virtual enemy of Satsuma in the south, and has particularly strengthened the defense on the south side of the castle tower. In the battle of Sekigahara, Kato Kiyomasa was the Eastern Army led by Ieyasu, and Satsuma of the Shimazu family was the Western Army on the Mitsunari side. On the map, the right side is the southern part of Satsuma.
There are four highways extending from Kumamoto Castle. Higo and Satsuma were connected by the Satsuma Kaido, and they passed when Satsuma's sankin kotai and Atsuhime headed for Edo. It is said that the road was going through the site of Kumamoto Castle in order to show the greatness of the castle, but it is interesting to find out which road was .
Next, I was taking a map of Hiroshima, where Hiroshima Castle is located, but I'll stop it.

In this way, if you have Inozu, you can walk all over the country.
Enjoy homecoming and excursions that could not be done by GW beyond space and time. Why don't you take this opportunity to travel around the country using Inozu?
The site where Inozu can be seen is summarized on the homepage of Katori City, where Sahara, the hometown of loyalty, is located, so I think it is better to look for it from there.
