Then...

A long history

In the past, a gentle foot of the mountain continued south from the current Kanda Myojin mountain, and the sea just beyond it was.

The entire foot of the mountain was called Fukuda Village, Nanpojima-gun, Musashi-kuni.

Fukuda Village cut down Kadoyama to create flat land, and indigenous people were making rice.

Fukudamachi and Toyoshima-cho, which remain today, are remnants of those days. (* Place name of Chiyoda-ku: Fukudamachi remains as "Kandanishifukudacho", but Toyoshimacho does not remain.)

About 1,300 years ago, Heijo-kyo was built, and Japan's first money was cast by donating copper from the Musashi Ashio Copper Mine, famous as Wado Kaichin.

According to Records of ancient matters, Daimyojin Fushimiinari was first proposed to Mt. Inari, Kyoto in 709.

Two years later, it was the luck of Fukuda Inari Shrine in the first place that he separated from Fushimi in 711 and enshrined in Fukuda Village.

As you know, Inari Shrine has Fushimi and Toyokawa.

Since Fushimi is Shinto and Toyokawa is Buddhist temple, Fukuda Shrine is Shinto, which belongs to the pure Fushimi family.

At that time, the people near Fukuda Village revered as the guardian deity of the five grains, and it is said that a peaceful life was continued day and night around this company.

The fact that the people of Nihonbashi and Kanda can maintain peace for a long time is a gift of the guardian of Fukuda Inari, who is deeply inspired.

"Origin" is written on the back of this billboard. ・・・

Origin of Ryukan River and Landfill

Edo Sunako and New Edition Edoshi were excavated for disaster prevention during the Tenna period more than 270 years ago, and from between Kanda Bridge and Tokiwa Bridge, water from the outer moat is poured into the Hamacho River eastward.

Both banks were folded with stone walls, six rivers, called Kandabori.

It was dug in Genroku 4 (1691).

In April 1857 (Ansei 4), the bank was broken and the moat was buried leaving only the Ryukan Bridge at the entrance, but in 1883, it was dug again for fire prevention and rainwater.

Kawana was named Ryukangawa.

In the past, Ryukan Inoue, who lived at the western end of this river, was famous as the entertainment of Edo Castle, the lord of the palace.

Later, the place was called Ryukan-cho.

At that time, Kanda moat was also known as Hatchobori, Hiyokebori, and Ginbori, and there was a time when the moat dike was called Hatcho embankment and pine was planted in a row of trees. .

There were boats coming and going in the river, but recently sewage flows in from sewage, emits odors, and throws away garbage, so mosquitoes and flies are not good for sanitation, and the river has become completely useless.

Immediately after World War II, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government planned to bury the Oshita water pipe at the bottom of the river and reclaim it with the remaining soil of the war, to create residential land and promote reconstruction.

The Confederation Committee, selected from Kanda and Nihonbashi, expressed their support, in anticipation of the future, applied for a request to pay the new landfill to the people living in the land, and hoped that they would stand in the middle and take the labor.

Landfill construction was completed in March 1950, and this large project was completed without delay.

This time again, we selected the northeast corner of Jizobashigi Children's Park, the central point where the Ryuka River was located, and with the approval of Tokyo Metropolitan Government, built the Ryukagawa Reconstruction Memorial Monument.

This landfill is actually a handshake between Chiyoda and Chuo wards, which promotes the affinity of Kanda and Nihonbashi residents.

In the past, rivers, now Ryukan Shindo, and efforts are made to develop the land.

June 1955 lucky day

At that time, the governor of Tokyo was Seiichiro Yasui.

This time, I would like to show you the classic rakugo.

It was the 6th time.

It will be three times in a row, but this time it is also a request from Mr. W, a great friend of Rosmali.

It's "Nakazo Nakamura".

Like classical rakugo, it is a very attractive performance even in talks.

In the Nihonbashi area, there were three seats, Nakamuraza, Ichimuraza, and Moritaza, a long time ago.

Nakazo Nakamura climbed to the top of a real person, the famous actor of Edo Sanza, who was approved by the upper house, so-called actor.

By the way, Nakazo Nakamura seemed to have temporarily closed the actor and run a liquor store in Ningyocho.

Then...

"Nakazo Nakamura,"

Even though it became a famous title, the role of Nakazo Nakamura was part of Chushingura's fifth tier Axe Sadakuro, and that role is not very good.

However, I doubt that Nakazo, who is passionate about art, and Sadakuro, the son of a senior servant, stands out in a bandit, but I can't come up with a plan even though I want to devise it.

So I prayed for the Myoken of Yanagishima, and on the full day, I met an evening shower and sheltered at a soba shop.

The ronin style that came in with "Forgive" there, thirty-two or three years of age.

He is tall and has a nice white Hosomi, but his monthly fee is growing.

Black feather double (Kurohabutae) crest, a tea offering belt, large and small drops, snow clogs are sandwiched between the waist, and the torn snake's umbrella is released.

I'm paying for the moon and the drop of kimono.

Nakazo thought, "This is it," and immediately returned home and changed the costume of Sadakuro.

On the night before tomorrow is the first day, Nakazo confesses to his wife, "If Jokuro's role doesn't work, leave Edo and retrain."

On the first day, pour water from the head in a hand tub before the turn, and run to the stage while pouring water.

In the hall, it was as quiet as if it were watered.

Nakazo, who felt that he was hurt, returned home and prepared for his trip, and went to the table alone.

Listen to the conversation of each other.

"How do you do, today's Sadakuro ..." "A great actor came out ..." "If you don't see that, it's a shame of Edo kid ..."

I'm back home. There was a messenger from his teacher Denkuro Nakamura.

When I visited the teacher, "Nakazo, your Jokuro will be a model for the later world. I'll put this cigarette in."

When I got home and put my hands on my wife, "No, worship," It seems to have been wrapped around."

Nakazo, "I got cigarettes."
