Microtourism in Chuo-ku

The GOTO Travel Campaign, which was excluded from departure and arrival in Tokyo, did not mean that the travel itself was banned because of the lack of assistance, but if you think, "I don't want to travel to and from Tokyo." It's not a hamlet, but is it a matter of whether you should go or not?

If you think calmly, most of the risk of infection depends on "how to interact with people", so there is no point in controlling "where to go" or "how many prefectures to go" should not.

However, since the virus itself is invisible, I can't stop psychology similar to the fear psychology that you think "I'm afraid of the dark (since something scary may come out)" (^^^).

Meanwhile, microtourism advocated by President Yoshiji Hoshino, Hoshino Resort Representative, seems to be a hot topic in various places.

Microtourism is, in other words, "promotion of sightseeing in the local area (with a guide within one hour)", and at this time when there is a little resistance to traveling far away, you can lower the hurdles of feelings a little There are various benefits, such as easy to repeat. For more information, please refer to the following link.

From the viewpoint of other prefectures, we, "horrible" Tokyo residents, know that if you look at each other, "if you take proper measures, you will not actually be so scared", so take serious infection control measures and enjoy microtourism at great value It may be an opportunity to enjoy (^^).

Tokyo residents-only plan

Tokyo Metropolitan Limited Plan Microtourism in Chuo-ku

It is a service called the "Tomin Limited Plan" that greatly supports microtourism. (Of course, it is not implemented only in Tokyo, but discounts are provided for each prefecture.)

There are places where limited plans are offered at hotel direct sales, but many seem to be reserved via agents such as JTB, Rakuten, jalan, Yahoo. Anyway, if you search a little, you can see, but there are many that are less than half the normal price, which is a surprise price.

I don't think staying at a nearby hotel will make you feel like traveling, but if the purpose of the trip is to experience extraordinary things, you will be released from housework and set up meals. There is no doubt that just getting a comfortable bath and sleep than usual will be a considerable change.

Or, even though I was worried about hotels in the neighborhood, the hurdles that I thought, "I wonder if it's okay to stay overnight" are considerably reduced by the Tokyo residents-only plan.

First of all, visit your neighborhood

That's why? I stayed at a hotel called "Yae no Midori", which just opened in Hatchobori this July.

It seemed that this hotel was ready to open at the beginning of April, but it didn't seem to be in operation since then, and I was a little worried about the beautiful planting.

According to the front desk, it was actually scheduled to open in April, but it was delayed for about three months due to COVID-19. Anyway, it's best to be able to open safely.

Please refer to the image below to find out which hotel is. It is a business hotel with a slightly unusual structure and full of Japanese-style taste. Above all, it was full of cleanliness enough to have a new scent.

 Microtourism in Chuo-ku

Microtourism in Chuo-ku

The following is a ranking of accommodation capacity by region in Tokyo, published by the site called HotelBank (as of February 2020). As you can see, you can see that the capacity of Chuo-ku is much larger than the area and population.

Ranking Regional Number of guest rooms Number of facilities
1 Minato-ku 32,089 187
2 Chuo-ku 26,161 199
3 Taito-ku 22,379 403
4 Shinjuku-ku 21,332 194
5 Chiyoda-ku 19,539 132

And almost all of the hotels so far have taken proper infection control measures, passed on to prices and set high prices, rather than lowering prices, we are ready to accept customers.

・・・ I feel that visiting hotels is not a tour of ordinary sightseeing spots anymore, but a tour of hotels is one of the highlights of sightseeing in Chuo-ku.

However, when it comes to consecutive nights, it is necessary to clear the issue of "Where to spend safely and happily during the day", but in "Visit to Chuo-ku for the purpose of staying overnight", "Dinner and breakfast in the neighborhood (Safe) famous stores" I feel that the set plan of "" is recommended first. (It's just a private plan.)

It would be fun if you could have a series stay plan (some benefits for a total of 4 nights) that will allow you to spend more "one night every week".♪

There are other issues.

1) Acceptance of mildly ill persons

Around the first wave of COVID-19 has subsided, Tokyo has canceled contracts with hotels for accepting mildly ill patients one after another, so it seems that it is now re-contracting. So, there may be an opinion that "how to secure a facility for accepting mildly ill people first than microtourism?", But when calculated in the whole city, the number of guest rooms is more than 180,000 as of February (the above Yae Midori etc.) has not yet been calculated).

The number of guest rooms required to accept mildly ill patients seems to have a significant capacity. On the other hand, if all 180,000 guest rooms in Tokyo become facilities for the mildly ill, it will no longer be a situation where economics can be said. 。

2) The selection of shops

The customers who are subject to microtourism are local residents, so even if you recommend Tokyo specialties that you can't afford at an extraordinary price, you're probably not going to see them. The same applies not only to souvenirs but also to eating and drinking.

Therefore, stores that were doing business that wrapped amateurs in smoke, with the main target of "Ichigen-san", such as inbound customers before Corona, will be eliminated.

In terms of economic effect, it may be better for those stores to survive, but it is desirable for everyone to survive and increase the number of stores that provide services that continue to be supported by customers who come many times.
