This time, we will also show the Edo classical rakugo. This is the 8th time.

This time, we will introduce "bamboo daffodils" with the "bamboo" connection of Takemori Shrine.

First of all, I will introduce you from the characters.

Jingoro left ...

A master craftsman and sculpture craftsman in the early Edo period.

It is famous for its sleeping cats at Nikko Toshogu Shrine.

According to one theory, he was born in Banshu Akashi, lived in Hida Takayama, climbed to Kyoto, and was involved in the construction of the Imperial Palace and temples and shrines.

It is said that he later went to Edo and became famous as the master of the shogunate's dojo carpenter.

In addition, the rakugo story about staying in Jingoro Edo is "Mitsui no Oguro", "Mitsui of Surugacho", so-called "Echigoya", that is, the current Mitsukoshi Department Store in Nihonbashi Muromachi.

(There are various theories, and the difference in the era from Echigo-ya has been pointed out.)

In addition, "Jingoro Sa" appears in talks and Namikyoku.

And about "bamboo flowers" ...

Bamboo is said to die when it reaches its life, with flowers similar to rice.

"Bamboo daffodil"

A story in Hatago, on the way down the Tokaido from Kyoto to Edo.

Edo Omote and Hachiroemon Mitsui in Surugacho received 30 cars with the work of carving "Oguro", but before arriving at this Hatago, I did not have a sentence.

Still, I drink alcohol from Japan and North Korea every time and stay for a long time.

When the owner of the inn urged him to pay, he cut bamboo from the bamboo bushes, crafted it, and made a stunning bamboo daffodil.

Jingoro told the host, "Place this bamboo daffodil at the main pillar of the inn and pour water three times during the day and three times at night."

"If there is a person who wants to buy this, he must not lose 50 cars for townspeople, 100 cars for samurai, and even a single sentence."

The next morning, a wonderful daffodil blooms.

This immediately caught the eye of Mr. Mohri Choshu and sold for 100 cars.

Jingoro heard this, "I did something regretful. Mohri's 300 cars were fine."

I will pay 50 cars as rent and tell you that I will leave tomorrow.

The host, "Please stay a little more and let the bamboo daffodil bloom."

Jingoro, a word. "If the bamboo blooms, the life will be shortened."
