[Excursion Series 25th] Another place where the telegraph was founded

Hello. I'm Hanes who finally resumed active activities the other day.
Despite being a self-proclaimed active correspondent, it has long been a modest article.
Even though I resumed my activities, COVID-19 infection is still worried.
I haven't used the train since March, and when I go out, I spend my days relying exclusively on bicycles.

Meanwhile, I went cycling to Yokohama City.
The purpose is to see another place where the telegraph was founded!

Let's briefly explain to those who say, "What is the place where telegraph was founded?"
In Akashicho, Chuo-ku, where many historical sites related to Civilization and enlightenment remain, there is a monument engraved with "Telegraphy Creation Site Monument".
Back in 1869, a temporary construction of a telegraph line of about 32 km connecting the "transmitting station" at Tsukiji Unsho and the Yokohama Court began.
On December 25 of the same year, we started operations as Japan's first public telecommunication service.
(It is said that the Japanese first saw the real telegraph in 1854, when the Perry fleet made its second visit.)

I went to see this monument many times, but the moon flowed without checking if there was a similar monument on the Yokohama side.
However, I learned that there was a monument on the side of Yokohama, and I came up with lucky day and immediately went to the scene!
This is another monument of "the birthplace of telegraph" left on the site of the current Yokohama District Public Prosecutors Office.
Although it is simple, the radio wave pattern is characteristic.

Although it was not as detailed as the monument in Akashicho, it was written in Japanese and English two languages unique to Yokohama!
Although my stay was only a few minutes short, I was able to enjoy a sense of accomplishment close to the excitement of running on my own about 32 km between Tokyo and Yokohama, which was connected by the telegraph line at that time.
When the temperature drops, I tend to stay at home, but I would like to go to see historical sites related to Chuo-ku while avoiding denseness so that I can balance the autumn of appetite and sports. .
