Utagawa (Ando) Hiroshige (1797-1858) was a ukiyo-e artist from the late Edo period, and is famous for "Tokaido Gojusanji" and "Hundred Views of Edo". In Chuo-ku, he spent his last 10 years in Ogamachi (now Kyobashi). One of the famous figures born in the same year is the composer Franz Schubert.
After his death, he was buried at Togaku-ji Temple in Shinteramachi, Asakusa, but in 1961, Togaku-ji Temple was relocated to present-day Ikohonmachi, Adachi-ku, and tombs and monuments were also relocated, and are now designated as historic sites in Tokyo. I am.
Togakuji Temple is a few minutes' walk from Takenotsuka Station on the Tobu Skytree Line.
