Utagawa (Ando) Hiroshige (1797-1858) is a ukiyo-e artist from the late Edo period, and is famous for "Tokaido Goju Sanji" and "Hundred Famous Edo Views". In Chuo-ku, he spent his later 10 years in Ogamachi (now Kyobashi). One of the celebrities born in the same year is the composer Francs Schubert.
After his death, he was buried at Togakuji Temple in Asakusa Shinteramachi, but in 1961, Togakuji Temple was relocated to the current Ikohonmachi, Adachi-ku, and tombs and monuments were also moved in the same way, and now it is a historic site in Tokyo. Has been designated.
Togakuji Temple is a few minutes on foot from Takenotsuka Station on the Tobu Sky Tree Line.
