Head office and a separate company connected by Kasama vermilion — Kasama Inari Shrine Tokyo Betsusha
It was about a year ago, but I had the opportunity to visit Kasama City in Ibaraki Prefecture.
Speaking of the symbol of Kasama City…Kasama Inari Shrine is said to have been founded in Shiraji 2 (651) and is counted as one of Japan's three largest Inari shrines.
One of the features of Kasama Inari Shrine is the unique vermilion paint, as seen in this torii gate.
Compared to the general vermilion color, the color is similar to a calm leukemia color, and the worship hall and the tower gate (back photo) in the precincts are painted in the same color.
(To be precise, the color of the worship hall is first. The current torii gate was built in the same color as worship hall when it was rebuilt in 2016, and it seems to have been stone until around 2010.)
Kasama is full of "Kasama vermilion color"
Local people call this unique vermilion color "Kasama vermilion color" and use it in town development.…When I visited, I heard about that.
When I look around the city, it is true that Kasama vermilion, which is the same as worship hall and Torii of Kasama Inari Shrine, is used in various places.
For example, this intersection…
If you look at the traffic light, isn't it beautifully painted in Kasama vermilion?
Kasama vermilion color for the store!
Souvenir shops and restaurants are lined up in front of Kasama Inari Shrine, and you can enjoy the famous Inarizushi, but there are places like the shops in this photo that make use of Kasama vermilion in the store structure .
In addition, benches and information signs were also painted in Kasama vermilion, and a unique town development was being promoted to utilize Kasama vermilion throughout the city.
Kasama vermilion is also used in Chuo-ku.…!
Well, the story has changed this year.
While pretending, I was in charge of the lecturer of the "monoshiri course" for the Chuo-ku sightseeing certification this year.
(To prevent the spread of COVID-19 infection, the course is distributed via youtube instead of face-to-face format, and you can see it for a limited time from the link posted on the Chuo-ku Tourism Certification website until 16:00 on Friday, January 22, 2021 the day before the certification. It's a bit embarrassed to advertise yourself.…Check it out!
In the course, we talked about some tips for "neighborhood sightseeing" to enjoy sightseeing in a familiar city.
In that context, I proposed a method of walking around the city without relying on a smartphone after deciding on a theme, and as one example, I introduced a tour of Nihonbashi Seven Lucky Gods.
While I was visiting Nihonbashi Seven Lucky Gods to make slides for the course, I realized that it was at the worship hall of Kasama Inari Shrine Tokyo Bessha (2-11-6 Nihonbashi-Hamacho), which enshrines Kotobuki Oigami.
……Yes, the worship hall of Tokyo Bessha is also painted in red Kasama!
This Tokyo Bessha enshrines the spirit of Kasama Inari Shrine on the premises of the Kasama Domain Shimoyashiki in 1859, and the historical connection with the headquarters in Kasama is clear. However, I felt that Kasama vermilion made the connection visible.
By all means, please come to Hamacho and Kasama to see this unique color!
