♪ Ryutora and Kurokoma of Tsukuda
At the festival in Tsukuda, it is said that touching the lion's nose is good luck, and the brave appearance of young people running on the alley ahead is a summer tradition. Both Ryuko and Kurokoma were made during the Edo period, and even when Tsukuda Island was burned down, they miraculously escaped difficulties and have been protected by the people of the island to this day .
These lion heads have mysterious powers. There is a legend that during the Great Kanto Earthquake, the fire was approaching with water and stopped. There is also a legend that a flock of white birds swirled over Sumiyoshi-jinja Shirine to protect the island.
♪ Alley in Tsukishima
There are many Monjaya shops on Nishinaka-dori on Tsukishima, commonly known as Monja Street. Monja dates back to the time when Tsukishima was Tsukishima in the Meiji era and flourished as a factory town. After school, it seems that the neighborhood candy store thought about what to eat for children.
There is also the oldest police box in Japan. This building with a charming appearance like a streetcar is said to have been rebuilt in 1926. It is now active as a regional safety center and has become a symbol of the city.
If you go one step back from Nishinaka-dori, you can still find a quaint Nagaya alley. Just looking at it, why is it relieved? I don't know that era, and the place where I was born is different ... I feel like I can hear the voice of someone who knows well.
