The main pillar of "Umiyuki Bridge" where the air of the times remains strong

Hello. It's less than a month before the Chuo-ku Tourism Test, so it's RIEdel who is walking around the city after reviewing.

Is the main pillar symmetrical?

Is the main pillar symmetrical? The main pillar of "Umiyuki Bridge" where the air of the times remains strong

When I was walking around Tsukiji's out-of-market market for purchases during the year-end and New Year holidays, I suddenly noticed the main pillar of Kaikobashi.
Kaiyuki Bridge was built in 1927 as part of the Great Kanto Earthquake Reconstruction Project, and was located at the entrance of the former Central Wholesale Market. The main body of the bridge has been removed due to the reclamation of the Tsukiji Kawahigashi tributary, but the main pillar remains.
After reading the explanation board on the side of Namiki Shrine, I realized again that the main pillar of Kaikobashi was "point symmetrical". Of the four main pillars, I happened to think that two at a diagonal position remained, but it was originally such a design.

The two steel main pillars with built-in lighting are located on the northwest and southeast sides of the former Tsukiji Kawahigashi tributary.

The style of this main pillar is said to be the design of the Amsterdam school. The design was popular in Amsterdam, the Netherlands around 1910, and the beginning was that curves and bold cuts were inserted into brick buildings that tend to become inorganic. From this main pillar, you can feel the atmosphere of the era. At one time, it was painted in light blue, but now it has been returned to the dark green color at the time of its creation.

The other point symmetrical main pillar is a simple square pillar stone design.
It's simple, but I feel the commitment of those who designed the square pillar at 45 degrees instead of parallel to the river.

That's why (wh?) One of Tora-san's famous scenes related to Kaiko Bridge.
"Are you happy sea now?"
"Yes, I'm doing happy in Amsterdam."

I think the rest is good (laughs).
