The spring of 2021 is February 3.
February 3 is the first time in 124 years since 1897 (Meiji 30). And "Setsubun" at the border of the season, the day before spring, is February 2.

Since ancient times, in Japan, there are various events to get rid of the evil at the turn of the season.

It can be seen from the "Shoku Nihongi" that during the era of Emperor Monmu (706), the epidemic spread throughout the country, and an event to drive away demons, which were thought to be the cause of the plague, was held in the Imperial court.

In the Edo period, Tsuina and bean-throwing ceremony of Setsubun were completely connected to each other and paid off the disaster, and it was handed down today as a lucky ritual.

This year's Ekata is "South-southeast".
