Chuo-ku-ku-April edition with birth flowers
Hello. The active activity is Hanes on holidays.
With the change of the year, I was re-emphasizing and looking for a April birth flower that can be enjoyed in Chuo-ku!
Please enjoy the colorful flowers overflowing on the street corner of Chuo-ku with photos.
[Assumptions of this series]
・There are variations in the birth flowers and their flower language assigned to the 365th. In this series, we refer to the birth flower and flower language published in Hibiya Flowerbed's "Birth Flower / Flower Language on the 365th".
・We aim to introduce flowers that anyone can enjoy freely even if they get tired. Therefore, general household gardens, paid gardens, limited-time events, and flowers found in florists are not eligible.
・It will be an introduction to the extent found by the author, so you may actually see more birth flowers.
Searching for 30 kinds of birth flowers in April
April 4: Triteria (flower language "Love to endure")
@ Harumi Island Triton Square, etc.
It is also known as "Hananira". It is said that the stem has the same scent as leek.
I didn't confirm the scent this time, but I'm surprised that such a cute flower has such a scent.
April 7: Sakura (Flower language "Takaki")
@ Everywhere in the ward
One of the representative flowers that come to mind when it comes to spring.
As many correspondents have introduced in this blog, you can enjoy various types of cherry blossoms in the city.
April 8: Fuji (flower language "I'm in love")
@ Tsukiji Kameibashi Park
As of April 18, it was quite blooming, so it is expected to be in full bloom by late April.
April 11: Kunsiran (flower language "heartful")
@ amazake Yokocho (flower pot on the sidewalk)
It was named "Kimiko orchid" because of its elegant appearance, but it seems to be a amaryllidaceae instead of a orchid family.
It is not easy to see the classification just by appearance.... It's deep!
April 14: Hurdion (flower language "Slight love")
@ Everywhere in the city (roadside, parks, etc.)
April 15: Dandelion (flower language "Dream of Reunion")
@ Everywhere in the city (roadside, parks, etc.)
Both are often found flowers, but in fact there are interesting episodes about the harzion nomenclature.
Makino Tomitaro, the father of Japanese botanicals, named "Harugion" (Shunjoen), was indignant with Siebold, which is related to Chuo-ku.
The reason for this is that Siebold named Hydrangea otaksa (a beautiful hydrangea rather than a plain bigleaf hydrangea) the Hydrangea otaksa. Click here for more information.
If you have a good intuition, this "Otakusa" is his wife Otaki (the mother of rice known for opening a maternity hospital in Tsukiji).
In conclusion, the scientific name of Hydrangea was decided before that, so "Otakusa" was not adopted.
However, even in modern times, I often hear that people who love the store name or song name are named.
My life has changed drastically due to the influence of COVID-19 infection, but I was able to find something that has not changed since the time of Siebold.
April 18: Waslenagusa (flower language "Don't forget")
@ Harumi Island Triton Square
The English name is "Forget-me-not".
Once you see this delicate and beautiful blue flower, you will not forget it all the time.
April 24: fringed iris (Flower language "Self-assertion")
@ Harumi Island Triton Square
From the brilliant and dignified appearance, the flower language of "self-assertion" was strangely convinced.
April 25: Mokkobara (flower language "First Love")
@ Harumi Island Triton Square
The gentle yellow double-flowered flowers like spring have been in full bloom since early April.
It seems that it was introduced to Japan in the middle of the Edo period and has a surprisingly long history.
April 28: Rosemary (Flower language "Memories")
@ Harumi Island Triton Square
Until now, I've seen rosemary many times in various places, but this is the first time I have seen flowers.
It was a flower different from the image, but I think that it is the real pleasure of plant observation that there is always surprise and discovery.
Yeah
This time, we were able to find 10 out of 30 birth flowers in April.
I was able to spend more time searching for flowers than last month, but there are still many flowers that can be found if you look for them, such as crocus, daisy, lilac, lupinus, mulchikore, buttons, etc.
We will continue to look at the plants in the city and enjoy the changing seasons.
