Buy Moldova wine at Tsukiji
We visited Moldova wine specialty store "MOLDOVA" in Tsukiji 6-chome, which I had been worried about for a long time, and talked to Katsuto Honma, the representative of the management parent WINEX (WineNEX).
Address: 6-10-3 Tsukiji, Chuo-ku, Tokyo 104-0045, Japan
The relationship between Masato Honma and Moldova began in 2004. It seems that it was a personal support activity for children's homes in Moldova and Ukraine. In 2007, the NPO "Japan Ukraine Moldova Friendship Association" was established. Mr. Vladimir Boronin, President of the Republic of Moldova at the time he met through support activities, requested the spread of Moldova wine in Japan and began importing and selling it.
According to Katsuto Honma, Moldova, an ancient European wine-producing area with a history of more than 3,000 years, is not familiar in Japan.…However, recently, the number of wineries that perform not only main fermentation but also maloractic fermentation and cultivation in stainless steel tanks seems to be increasing. Even in that situation, WINEX (Wine Nex) is particular about wine grown only in oak barrels.
※The photo above was taken at CRICOVA (CRICOVA) in May 2013.
When I went to Moldova in 2013, I visited CRICOVA, the second largest winery in Moldova, and had several tastings. It was a wine with a gentle taste with tannins and acids in common. At that time, I bought a slightly rare red sparkling wine (Caberne Sauvignon 100%). It was the red sparkling wine that I drank for the first time, but I remember that I enjoyed the taste of Caberne Sauvignon with a light mouth unique to foaming.
This time, I decided to buy and taste the red steel wine (100% Caberne Sauvignon) from Moldova's largest winery MILESTII MICI (Mileschi Meichi).
