Received the Tokiwabashi Society of Civil Engineers Tanaka Award!

The Joban Bridge, which spans the Nihonbashi River, is the oldest stone arch bridge in Tokyo as an existing bridge over the river. The location is right in front of the Bank of Japan. Due to the disaster in Great East Japan Earthquake, the restoration was carried out using the so-called "demolition repair" method, which dismantled everything once. The restoration work has been completed, and it can now be crossed from May 10, 2021.
This restoration project was selected as one of the "Tanaka Prizes" given to outstanding bridge projects by the Japan Society of Civil Engineers, and was announced on May 17, 2021. The name of the "Tanaka Prize" is named after Yutaka Tanaka, who created many famous bridges that are familiar to the public as symbols of Tokyo, such as the Eitai Bridge and Kiyosu Bridge over the Sumida River.
