Joban Bridge is finally completed! I'm also surprised at the size of the Jobanbashi gate!
The restoration of Joban Bridge has been completed, and its beautiful appearance has been restored. (Opened in mid-May 2021)
There are several ways to enjoy this beautiful arch.
【STEP1】 Actually cross the bridge
【STEP2】 View from the side
【STEP3】 Go through a cruise ship and look up from below
The view from the ship was kept at a later date, and on this day I crossed it with my own feet.
Crossing Jobanbashi from the Bank of Japan side is the remain of Jobanbashi Gomon, one of Edo Castle's thirty-six Mitsuke.
With the opening of Jobanbashi, you can now enter the Jobanbashi Gomon Ruins again.
A part of the stone wall of Masugatamon still remains, and I was surprised at its size.
You can imagine that it was a magnificent gate.
There is also a statue of Eiichi Shibusawa nearby.
The area around Jobanbashi is a spot where you can feel the Edo and Meiji eras.
