Do you know "Doyomochi"? -Toraya Nihonbashi Store
Speaking of "Doyo", it is associated with "Eel of Doyo Ox Day", but it is not only eel that eats for earth. There are "Soil Shijimi" and "Soil Egg", etc. This time, "Doyo Mochi" is introduced.
As you know, "Doyo" refers to one of the same tribunals as "Setsubun" and "88 Nights", the eighteen days before the beginning of spring, summer, fall, and winter in the calendar.
On the first day, there is a custom to eat earthy rice cakes so as not to lose the heat.
Toraya's pamphlet says, "Azuki used for bean paste has the power of protection against misfortune."
This year, it was released for three days from July 17th to 19th, and I made a reservation on the last day, 19th, and visited the store.
I changed the regular bite yokan to the summer version, found the seasonal raw confectionery "Himawari" next to the earthen mochi, and I also received this because it is too cute. While watching the waist that became thick due to the corona disaster, I was tempted to say "from tomorrow" again while thinking of a diet from today.
As you know, Toraya was founded in Kyoto during the Muromachi period, and opened a Tokyo store in 1869, not just a department store. Ginza (under renovation) There is a street store in Nihonbashi, which is popular.
It is this season when there are many events such as summer festivals, but it is canceled or postponed on parade. At least let's enjoy the changing seasons with Japanese sweets. Take out a summer bowl and take a break.
