Architecture in Chuo-ku (7) Nihonbashi Diamond Building

Nihonbashi Diamond Building (1-19-1 Nihonbashi, Chuo-ku) is a building that partially preserved and rebuilt (high-rise) the Mitsubishi Warehouse Edobashi Warehouse Building, which was built in 1930 (1930).

The Historic buildings, which was six stories above ground, was designed to resemble a hull, including a rounded outer wall, a tower in the image of Funabashi, and an arch window.

The renovation project, completed in 2014, preserves approximately 70% of the exterior of the Edobashi Warehouse Building, and by constructing a high-rise building in the central part, it has been rebuilt into a 18-story office building and trunk room while retaining the characteristics of the Edobashi Warehouse Building.
