Hamarikyu Garden on the edge of Chuo-ku.
For a limited time from July 1 to September 5, a flow of water flowing slowly while shiningly is installed in the `` Yan Liaokan Ruins '' area just after entering from Ote Kadoguchi and Nakano Kadoguchi. I am.

Installed as part of the Pavilion Tokyo 2021

Limited installation period as part of "Pavilion Tokyo 2021"! "Suimei" in Hamarikyu Gardens

Water flowing while winding and winding as if sewing between trees planted in the garden.
This event was organized as part of the "Pavilion Tokyo 2021" held by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, Arts Council Tokyo, and the Pavilion Tokyo 2021 Executive Committee.
This event proposes a free and new urban landscape by installing buildings and objects by world-renowned architects and artists in multiple locations around the New National Stadium.

This pavilion, named "Suimei", is exhibited by Kazuyo Sejima, a famous architect who has won the Pritzker Prize, which is said to be the Nobel Prize in the architectural world.
Many of the nine types of pavilions are installed in Shibuya-ku near the New National Stadium, but this pavilion is the only one located in Chuo-ku.

 Time-limited "Suimei" in Hamarikyu Gardens

The water flowing out of the water outlet provided at the end slowly flows through a waterway with a very gentle slope with a width of 80 cm and a total length of about 168 m. This slow flow is inspired by the waterway called "Makusui" in the garden of the Heian period, and expresses the connection between the past, present, and future.
When viewed from a distance, it seems to remain, but when viewed nearby, the flow of water constantly changes. I want to see it without thinking.

By the way, this waterway is set up with thin feet and is installed to flow through the air.
At the former Hamarikyu Garden, a special scenic spot and a special historic site, it seems that such a shape was adopted because it is not possible to dig the soil of the garden and drain water.

This "Pavilion Tokyo 2021" has an extra trick.
If you read the QR code displayed on some pavilion explanatory boards, you can get the water in a plastic bottle labeled with the pavilion as a prize.

"Suimei" installed in the Hamarikyu Onshi Garden is also eligible for this prize.
However, please note that the water receiving place is the Watarium Museum in Shibuya-ku (the QR code is located in Hamarikyu's park). Recommended for those who want to visit other pavilions on display!
