Tokyo Dumbo

Sakamotocho Park Open

Sakamotocho Park opened on September 1st, so I went for a walk.

The entrance from Heisei-dori is very spacious.

Surrounded by public buildings such as Sakamoto Elementary School, Nihonbashi Fire Station, and Central Police Station, this area has a history of being a daimyo residence of the Higo Kumamoto Domain and the Tamba Ayabe Domain during the Edo period.

It is a venerable park that was first developed as a small urban park in Tokyo based on the Tokyo City Reform Design in 1889.

The new park displays an easy-to-understand MAP and explanatory version.

There is a spacious lawn square in the center, a slightly small hill for everyone, both of which have lawns planted, and you can enter on the lawn as it is.

It's nice to put it on the lawn in the city center of Tokyo!

The lawn square is surrounded by promenade and a stream, and there is a water lily pond at the end of the stream.

Square of Komorebi

Komorebi no Hiroba Sakamotocho Park Open

The Komorebi Square on the west side of everyone's hill has wooden sheep and horses, and ropes and wooden jungle gyms, making it a perfect space for small children to play.

Kabuto-cho, Kayabacho Machikado Exhibition Hall

Kabuto-cho, Kayabacho Machikado Exhibition Hall Sakamotocho Park Open

The Kabuto-cho and Kayabacho Machikado Exhibition Hall, which had been suspended for the maintenance of the park and Sakamoto Elementary School, has also been reopened and can now be seen nearby.

I can't see it being carried at the Sanno Festival due to COVID-19, but if you come here you can see beautiful works of art such as portable shrine and lion head up close.

In the Kabuto-cho district, which has been attracting high attention, the new Sakamotocho Park will be a relaxing place and a park loved by many people.
