On September 9, the Tokyo Sky Tree lit a special gold lighting that was newly designed to support the purpose of the Global Gold September Campaign, an international campaign for childhood cancer that is widely supported internationally. The Global Gold September Campaign is a campaign that illuminates buildings, archeological sites, bridges, and natural heritage that symbolize each region of each country in September every year to raise awareness of the importance of treating childhood cancer and to provide children with necessary medical care and research. Beginning with the strong desire of patients with childhood cancer, their parents, and experienced childhood cancer, it has become a major campaign supported worldwide. The world-wide Society of Pediatric Cancer, the International Society of Pediatric Cancer, is also being promoted worldwide, and last year Japan was invited to participate. Along with the lighting of this special lighting, a live-streaming event with the theme of Smile Action will be held in Tokyo Sky Tree Town with the hope that children and their families with childhood cancer will be able to spend a brilliant future with a smile.
