NEW GINZA STREETSCAPE
-Japanese tradition and global warming thinking on the street corner of Ginza
Hello. It has been four years since I started living in Chuo-ku, and I have missed nature.
Sometimes I want to go to forests and mountains, but it takes time to go to Okutama or Chichibu.
So, when I walked around Ginza for the first time in a long time on the way home from the library, I noticed that unfamiliar plants were planted along Chuo-dori.
For example, the intersection in front of Ginza Mitsukoshi.
Plants like reeds that are rarely seen in the city center grow, and the information board says "Ginza Nohara".
Although it is a small area, you may be able to see the simple and beautiful fields.
This initiative is a project called NEW GINZA STREETSCAPE, a collaboration of four companies, and is developing streetscapes with different concepts on Chuo-dori.
Fork is on the east side of 1-4 chome, Hashiuchi Garden Design is on the west side, Office ma is on the east side of 5-8 chome, and Pratt Design is on the west side.
thistle was previously planted on the side (west side) where Kimuraya is located, but now you can enjoy new planting!
The name is "Ginza Botanical Garden".
This also makes effective use of the limited space and has a green space in the city.
The information board says, "Horticultural culture that has been nurtured by people in the city of Ginza. Scenery of willow trees, private greenery quietly raised behind the alleys, flowers that decorate the show window ".
Until now, there was not much image of nature or horticulture in Chuo-ku.
However, as a result, it seems that you will be able to observe the street corner of Ginza from a different perspective than before.
And around Ginza 6-chome, there was a particularly strong presence, and there was a planting drifting between foreign countries. That's right.
The concept is "GINZA EXOTIC"!
I thought, "Is it exotic because Ginza is where brands from around the world gather?", But in fact, it is something deep that makes you think about the impact of global warming on Ginza.
It reminds you to try eco-friendly approaches from familiar places, such as bringing your own bag.
On the other hand, a small plant was planted on the west side.
Its identity is the ancient bamboo grass in Japan!
This planting, entitled "SASA deco", speaks to people who go to the city with a new tradition expression.
How is the collaboration with Ginza, which combines tradition and innovation?
In this way, the scenery of the city has been gradually changing in Chuo-ku since this year.
TOKYO BENCH PROJECT in Kyobashi introduced last month, and this NEW GINZA STREETSCAPE.
Newly opened shops are often talked about, but be sure to pay attention to changes in landscapes that you will not notice unless you look closely.♪
