The legacy of a world-class sports festival
~ Current situation near Harumi, Chuo-ku, near Athlete Village ~
Hello. I'm Hanes, an active correspondent.
This year marks the beginning of the world's sports festival.
Every year, June 23 is the “Olympic Day” to commemorate the day when the International Olympic Committee was established in 1894 (the day when the Modern Olympics were born), and athletes who came to Japan one year ago Posted photos taken in Harumi and photos from the tournament to SNS to celebrate the anniversary.
I saw these photos nostalgicly, and I was worried about the current state of Harumi and immediately went there.
A sign for HARUMI FLAG is installed around the area where the athlete village was located, and road construction is being carried out as part of the legacy town development after the tournament.
Although it is a long-term construction, you can go by bus or car near the Harumi Passenger Terminal, which closed in February this year.
During the tournament, I passed by bicycle near the athlete's village and went to Ariake, one of the city cast's activities.
The memories of those days are revived, such as waving on a bus carrying players who have just arrived in Japan.
Harumi is about to be reborn as a new city, including the development of the HARUMI FLAG, and you can still see the remnants of the athlete village.
Signposts written as Main Dining Hall, Transport Mall, Multi Function Complex, etc., show the international atmosphere of the time, showing the faces of the construction enclosure.
I'm really looking forward to seeing what kind of city it will evolve in the future!
Keep an eye on the Harumi area, which changes every day.
For details of the construction, please refer to the “Harumi Legacy Construction Kawara Edition” issued every other month by the Tokyo Metropolitan Daiichi Urban Development Office.
