♪ Ryukan River
Kanda moat is a moat dug as a fire prevention measure in 1691 (1691). In addition, along the waterway, a bank with a length of eight (870m) and a height of two (7.3m) was built, and it was called Hatcho embankment.
In the Meiji era, the embankment was demolished and the river width was widened, and the name was changed to "Ryukangawa". While many waterways were dug for the purpose of shipping, the Ryukan River, which was a firebreak moat, is a rare river.
In 1950, the Ryukan River was reclaimed and turned into a narrow alley, but its remnants can be remembered in the name of the park. Ryukan Children's Amusement Park is connected to the neighboring Chiyoda-ku in the park. On the Chiyoda-ku side, it is called Ryukan Children's Park.
