In the alleys of Nihonbashi, there are many shops that make use of old-fashioned houses. Looking at the wisteria trellis, I found a Shoki statue on the roof of the shop.

There are various theories, but it is said to be a legendary person who exterminated the disease in the dream of Emperor Xuan Zong during the Tang Dynasty of China and completely cured the disease. It is said to have the effect of amulet, a plague, and a hanging scroll depicting Shoki's dolls and figures are displayed on the festival of Dango.

It is a reliable guardian deity placed back against the temple and shrine onigawara in some areas.

During the Warring States period, the sound of "Shoki = Katsuki" was said to be auspicious, and some warlords painted on flags and Jinhaori.

It seems that there are times when the word "Shoki = commercial machine" expresses the wish of thriving business.
