ーーWhat kind of meeting did you have with Okuno Building?

Oda: "I was painting while working as a salaried worker. I came to play because the fellow was in this building. At that time, I thought it was a very cozy building with old days, so I applied immediately. It has been popular since that time, so I waited for a year.

And on the way back from the company, I came here and drew a picture. I was criticized by everyone for being luxurious (laughs)."

Oda "I've been holding solo exhibitions for a long time, so I've often noticed the media.

So I called out to a salaried worker who has a talent from all over the country and launched the <Salaryman Cultural Arts Promotion Association>. It was interesting to have a lot of people, such as a salaryman and a street performer, a salaryman. They continued for 25 years after leaving the office worker."

ーーーーーーーPlease tell me how you became a gallery from the studio.

Oda "I started when my friends in painting asked me to display it in a gallery. At that time, there were two and three galleries in the building, but now there are more than 20 galleries.

Thanks to you, the gallery management is not good, so there are times when there is a gap. At that time, I use it as my own atelier. If the gallery management is too good, you won't be able to draw all the pictures. Thank you very much (laughs)."

ーーーーDid you objected to your wife when you rented a room?

Oda: "I didn't disagree at that time. "I don't have to go to the gallery now, but I don't have to get it from my household."

ーーーーWhat is the difference between artists and artists in the past?

Oda "I think it's hard because there aren't many people who buy pictures now. The other day, I was told that I would cancel my solo exhibition because of the lack of money.

In the past, solo exhibitions were the mainstream, but recently about half of this building has become a group exhibition."

Oda "In the past, I had something like a <commuting book>, and I gave rent every month in the manager's office on the first floor. He said that if he brought it without a transfer, he could understand each other well.

When I asked if I could change the interior of the room, I was told that I would like it if I could make a hole in the wall and go next to it. That's why the doors of each room are also unique. It was an easy time."

ーーーーDo you have anything to wish for the Okuno Building in the future?

Oda "In Ginza, where buildings are being rebuilt more and more, I want it to be forever as a convey to the old Ginza. Among them, I hope that the gallery, which is the culture of Ginza, will remain.

Not only famous exhibitions, but also people who exist in their living spheres are doing exhibitions ... I hope you will visit such places. I'm going to do the gallery until I die."

Kimura: "Gergoyl is a water outlet for dropping rainwater in the shape of animals, monsters, people, etc. in Gothic architecture. At first, I wanted to make bowling as an art that I could play, but there was a magnet at the bottom and I couldn't fall down. 。 。 I've been interested in gaugoyl for a long time, and I imagined and shaped my own gaugoyl."

ーーーーーーDo you have anything you value when you make it?

Kimura: "I feel like creating an image floating on my head with my fingertips. You can't do it at all if you don't have an image. I'm struggling every time because it doesn't take shape as I want."

ーーWhat kind of building is Okuno Building for you?

Kimura: "I think my work is in the retro atmosphere of the Okuno Building. The unique atmosphere is attractive."

ーーWhat kind of city do you think Ginza is for artists?

Kimura: "There are a lot of galleries, so it's very exciting. I'm filled with dreams."

Just like the atmosphere of the work, Mr. Kimura is very cute and unique.

Nyanko is sparse with art, but at first glance I was disappointed, "I want to take it home to my room."
