※ The image at the beginning is "Striped Striped Naka Furoshiki", which was sold at the time of "Kokura Ori Striped Iki 2020".
"Kokura Ori" is a traditional textile from Kitakyushu City, the future city of SDGs.
"Kokura stripes" is a brand that inherited its features and was born as a modern Ogura weaving.
We introduce high-quality items that are close to new values and new lifestyles.
This time, I also took care of Mr. Abe, Kiya Nihonbashi Main Store Co., Ltd.
At the same time, Mr. Morikoshi, who is in charge of izutuki, also guided us.
Ogura Ori is ...
"Kokura Ori" has been woven as a hakama or obi in the Buzen Kokura Domain (now Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture) since the early Edo period.
It is characterized by a three-dimensional stripe that creates a color rhythm with a lot of warp.
The cotton cloth with a strong and supple texture, which Ieyasu Tokugawa also used, was prized throughout Japan.
In the Meiji era, in the waves of Civilization and enlightenment, marbling Oguraori was newly spread throughout the country as boys' school uniforms.
Unfortunately, Ogura Ori was cut off once in the early Showa era during the war.
Ten years later, Noriko Tsuiki, a dyeing and weaving artist, repeated nearly two years of trial and error from a small piece of Ogura weaving cloth that he met by chance, and was restored in 1984, and it was restored as a modern cloth.
It is thick and durable, and the fabric has a luster, giving it a very smooth texture.
It is high density, and if it is a small amount of water, it will burst on the surface of the dough.
Due to the large amount of warp, the weft is not visible, which is the expression of stripes.
Noriko Tsukijo ...
Dyeing and weaving family, presided over Yuyu dyeing and weaving workshop in Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture.
Member of the Japan Kogei Association.
Born in Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture in 1952.
Mr. Tsukijo, who graduated from art college or was not born in a craft business house, felt attractive in Noh costumes, met Kokura Ori's edge while learning weaving, and came to want to regenerate this .
Ogura Ori, which had been cut off in production, has been restored, plant dyeing, and Ogura Ori's work has been announced by hand.
"Striped stripes SHIMA-SHIMA" is responsible for selecting threads and supervising textile design.
It is created with the aim of creating a landing point that links things that can only be done by hand and things that can only be done by machine.
Striped stripes SHIMA-SHIMA...
Noriko Tsukijo supervised the design and made use of the characteristics of Ogura Ori's strong and beautiful freshly striped stripes, and was born through mechanical weaving.
While becoming wide and inheriting tradition, it has expanded its use in various fields such as fashion and interior as a more modern general-purpose product.
As Ogura Ori in a new era, we are also collaborating with creators not only in Japan but also around the world.
・・This is an introduction of Ogura Ori's items that I have been waiting for you very much.
All prices are tax-included.
In addition, one item is included. Please forgive us when it is already sold.
