Reconstruction elementary school plays·To a center that supports the dance world
The Suitengu Pitt, officially known as the Tokyo Performing Arts Activity Support Center, is a facility that supports performing activities that opened in July 2010.
Elementary school has become a rehearsal hall
There are more than 2,000 theater companies operating as groups only in Tokyo, and there is a chronic shortage of rehearsal halls. The Tokyo Metropolitan Theater (Tokyo Metropolitan Foundation for History and Culture) was no longer used to rent a school, reinforce it, and convert it to a rehearsal hall.
The building of the Suitengu Pit was Hakozaki Elementary School, a reconstruction elementary school built after the Great Kanto Earthquake. Later, it became a school building at Nihonbashi High School, rented it when the school moved to Sumida-ku, and set up six studios of different sizes, small and medium sizes. The large studio is a former gymnasium, the middle studio is a classroom connected, and the small is converted to the classroom as it is.
There are modules used for stage production here and there.
The facility has a large space where you can practice without worrying about sound or vibration, as well as a shower, meeting room, and a salon where you can eat. In addition, it is also equipped with modules used for stage production.
The characteristics of the reconstruction elementary school remain.
117 schools in Tokyo were destroyed by the Great Kanto Earthquake 1999 years ago. After that, the reconstructed school is characterized by high earthquake resistance and a design that uses a lot of curves. Other rehabilitated elementary schools include Historic buildings, Jushi Square (Kodemmacho) and Keika Square (Hatchobori).
