When art and food meet
"Experience of creation" at Artizon Museum Cafe
Tokyo Dumbo toured the recording site of the 26th Art and Culture Course, "When Art and Food Meet-" Experience of Creation" at the Artizon Museum Museum Cafe. The recording was held at the cafe on the 16th floor of Museum Tower Kyobashi.
In the 26th Art and Culture Course, J. J., who is involved in the planning and operation of the Artizon Museum Museum Cafe. We welcomed Mr. Hitoshi Ueno, Representative Director of Cress Co., Ltd., and Mr. Aya Matsuura, Deputy Chief of the Public Relations Section of Artizon Museum, to talk about art and food.
Mr. Matsuura talked about the features and initiatives of the Artizon museum, Mr. Ueno, who runs the cafe, talked about cafe meals and tableware, and finally talked with them.
Ueno focused on the reuse of Otaniishi warehouse, which was once used as a food warehouse, and opened "Ishinokura" (Japanese restaurant) in Utsunomiya in 2001. After that, a cafe and select shop were opened in the store. He also held classical and jazz concerts, and has been active in disseminating local cultural information, and has been involved in the operation of the Museum Cafe at the Artizon Museum.
Craftwork at the Museum Café
A museum cafe with the interior of the museum. For a high-quality time spent in this space, we collaborated with the artist to create vessels, cutlery, and equipment that can only be found here. There are a number of original items that are conscious of adding the softness of curves and the warmth of casual handwork to the modern rinse space.
I would like to introduce some of the stories.
Cup and saucer
Coffee tea demitas cup & saucer was made by a potter, Liso kiln, which has been in Arita, Saga Prefecture for more than 100 years. It has a simple and casual appearance that matches the space.
Cutlery
We had you make it original by Ohashi Western tableware. The matte is finished because there is plenty of outside light inside the store. It is a cutlery that pursues ease of eating while having a simple and beautiful form that flows like flowing. The size of the dessert set is just right.
Cooking at the museum cafe
The dishes served at the museum cafe also have a solid meal menu.
As a mission of the museum cafe, we are working on the following:
Extraordinary provision → "Difference" with everyday life = unexpectedness (impression beyond satisfaction)
→ Unexpected "Unknown" Proposal
Creation of Only One → Cooking, drinks, and serving styles that reflect unique personality
Approach to Sensibility → Foods and drinks rich in beauty and ideas that are not limited to tasty.
→ Great unexpected encounters and discoveries for customers through "Creation"
An ambitious and creative chef who can match taste and sight seems to have devised a menu in consideration of the planning of the exhibition.
Friday is open until nine p.m. and reservations are also possible. It can be used without having to enter the Artizon Museum, so it will be an oasis when walking around Kyobashi and Nihonbashi, a town of art.
You can only enter from the entrance of the museum, but please feel free to enter because guardman is a gentle person.
