The Harumi Passenger Ship Terminal closed quietly in February.
The Harumi Passenger Ship Terminal will be held on February 20.
It has a history of 31 years since its opening in 1991.
In addition to large passenger ships from foreign countries and Japanese Antarctic observation ship Shirase, Kaiomaru and Nippon Maru, Marine Self Defense Force escort ships, the Fisheries Agency, the University of Tokyo, and many other ships entered and exited.
On the day off, from the pier I visited every time, I saw tourists who occasionally descending from foreign ships and crew members moving around for maintenance after disembarking. There were encounters, partings, and while watching it, I experienced a completely different world from Ginza and Nihonbashi.
In particular, the night view is wonderful when the crescent moon comes out, and I enjoyed the illuminations of Tokyo Tower, the Rainbow Bridge, and the lights of the Toyosu Market.
Passengers from foreign countries have become larger and cannot pass through the Rainbow Bridge, a new Tokyo Port has been built in Ariake, Koto-ku, and many ships have entered and exited from Ariake, and Harumi Wharf has completed its mission.
It seems that the development of the site is undecided, but the Tokyo Metropolitan Harumi Wharf Park (location: Harumi 5-chome, Chuo-ku) beside the Harumi Passenger Terminal is scheduled to open in October this year.
In the park, a co-working space, a local community activity base will be set up, and there will be a cafe that can accommodate various uses such as exchange events.
In addition, it seems that we plan to hold events that create liveliness and exchanges throughout the year, such as outdoor experiences, sports events, and events tailored to the four seasons, so I'm looking forward to the birth of a new spot.
