Great Kanonji Flower Festival to be enjoyed with the five senses
Hello. I'm Hanes, an active correspondent.
On April 2nd (Saturday), the "Flower Festival" was held at Ogannonji Temple in Nihonbashi Ningyocho.
The last time I went to this festival in 2018, when I became a correspondent.
Four years have passed since then.
In this article, we will tell you about the unique discoveries of this year that you felt with your five senses!
Due to the blessed weather on this day, there is a line at long-established and famous Japanese confectionery shops at noon.
In front of Daikanonji Temple, people in the shopping district set up a tent and provided information on the flower festival.
First of all, check the information board of Daikanonji Temple.
You can see in the picture below the origin of the iron bodhisattva head of main deity and the reason why it is enshrined in Daikanonji Temple, but in fact there is a little connection to Taiga drama series, which is currently being broadcast.
This main deity was originally enshrined at Shin Kiyomizu-dera Temple in Kamakura.
As Masako Hojo relied on Kiyomizu Kannon in Kyoto, when Minamoto no Yoritomo opened the Shogunate in Kamakura, this Shin Kiyomizu-dera Temple was founded in Kamakura.
Then they lined up in line and poured sweet tea into Historical Buddha, enshrined in Hanamido.
The reason for pouring sweet tea is based on the legend that at the birth of Historical Buddha, a dragon who appeared from heaven poured rain from above the head and celebrated it.
I also worshiped the iron bodhisattva head of the special revelation in time with the flower festival.
Please note that the opening date is usually the 11th and 17th.
After worshiping, we received a rice cracker and a lucky ticket as before.
Unlike the rice crackers four years ago, the brand name "Ningyocho Great Kannon-ji Skanda" was stamped.
(If you look at the article of 2018, you can see that the only seal at that time was "Ningyocho Great Kannon-ji".)
It may not be widely known yet, but Skanda (Goho Weda Tenson) is also enshrined at Daikanonji Temple.
Because it is a guardian deity of athletes and food procurement, runners, cooks, and housewives can also come to visit.
There is a detailed pamphlet about Ningyocho Skanda on the precincts, so if you are interested, why not pick it up when you visit?
Well, it's Fukuhiki, but this is also a pity!
But I had sweet tea and doll ware served by worshiper.
Due to infectious disease countermeasures, this time, Japanese sweets were packaged one by one so that they could be taken home.
Of course, it is good to enjoy the atmosphere of the Ningyocho shopping street on the spot, but if it is an individual package, it is also good because you can take it home and enjoy it slowly while soaking in the lingering sound of the flower festival.
This doll ware is a product of the long-established Shigemori Eishindo, founded in 1917 (Daisho 6), and the skin is the thinest and sticky among the doll ware I have eaten so far, and Koshian is packed tightly Was♪
The scent is good and the touch is fluffy. I feel like I had a delicious doll-yaki for the first time in a long time.
But that's not the case. With origami that won the Prime Minister's Award at the 22nd National Confectionery Expo!
This is also a perfect souvenir for Ningyocho.
Sweet tea doesn't have much sweet scent, and you don't feel sweet immediately after you eat it.
However, the sweetness that could not be said remained in the aftertaste, and it was a mysterious tea no matter how many times I drink it. Thank you very much!
At the Ningyocho Shopping Street, where the Flower Festival is being held, Japanese nursery rhymes such as "Seven Children" written by Ujo Noguchi and "Hana", widely known for written lyrics written by Takeshima Hagoromo and composed by Rentaro Taki, were playing.
In particular, since the latter singing was "Spring Urara no Sumida River", I remembered the row of cherry blossom trees and cruise ships on the Sumida River.
It is said that this lyrics sang the scene of the Sumida River around Kototoi Bridge, and it is not directly related to Chuo-ku, but at any time the state of the Sumida River appeals to people's hearts Re-recognized.
Ningyocho usually goes by bicycle, but as a result of walking on foot after a long absence, there was a discovery that appealed to the five senses that would not normally notice.
The Ningyocho area is popular as a downtown area where the Edo atmosphere remains in Chuo-ku.
There are many long-established stores, famous places, and historic sites, so you can enjoy both gourmet and town walks.
Not only during the cherry blossom season, but also seasonal events such as "Ningyocho Setonoichi" in August, "Ningyoichi" and "Tenten Festival" in October are scheduled, so it is a fun town to visit at any time .
For event information, please check the latest information on the Ningyocho Shopping Street Cooperative website before going out.
