The remains of the residence of Sharaku in Hatchobori
As the Chuo-ku Tourism Association correspondent blog, the blog name "Minatokko-chan" was announced on December 13, 2019, "The sidewalk in Chuo-ku is interesting! "Hatchobori Suzuran Street" introduces Sharaku Toshusai, but this time I would like to supplement only Sharaku.
Gesshin Saito, a famous Edo scholar for the Edo Famous Zoukai, said in Tenpo 15 (1844), "Sharaku, Tenmei era 1791" In Tenpo 15 (1844), Juro Saito The Noh actor of Awa Kasei, who lives in Edo Hatchobori, is described as Tosu. " From this record of the mooncen, the theory of Sharaku and Jurohei Saito was promising, but the date of birth was unknown and the outline of a person was unknown. In 1997, "Sharaku no Kai" in Tokushima City discovered a description of Guard Saito Juro in the past book of Hoko-ji Temple and proved the theory of Sharaku and Jurobei. Hoko-ji Temple was founded as the branch temple of Asakusa Gobo and moved to Tsukiji after the great fire of the Meiryaku era, and was relocated to Koshigaya in 1993.
There are the following descriptions in the past book of Hokkoji: 。
"Shin March 7, cremated at Senju, 58-year-old Senju, 58-year-old, Jizobashi Asu-dono, Shokudaijoin Kakumoi Hachimachi, Horijizobashi Asu-dono-Ouchi, Shakudai-in Temple on March 7"
As a result, the theory of Sharaku and Jurobei Saito, which has been said since ancient times, has been demonstrated, and the credibility has been further deepened.
Consideration of Old Figures
At the intersection of the Kamejima River, a tributary of the Nihonbashi River, and the current Sakura-dori St., there was Kamejima Kobashi, which is now called Shin-Kamejima Bridge. When I went west from Kamejima Kobashi via Sakura-dori St., there was Jizobashi in the Edo period. It is said that there was a "Sharaku residence" at the side of this bridge. Currently there is "Yakitori Miyakawa", and next to it is "Akadaya", a miscellaneous goods. Turn left on the narrow road south of Akasatsuya. There are no explanatory versions or monuments. Please visit the site of the Sharaku residence and remember the past with many ukiyo-e paintings.
