Ruins of Saigo Takamori mansion
As a personal matter, I am now reading with the aim of fully reading "Ryotaro Shiba Complete Works 68 Volumes". If you read through continuously and comprehensively, including works that you read intermittently in paperback books, you can get new impressions.
I'm reading "Shobuga Like" now. This is a long novel that depicts the struggle that bet on the survival of the country caused by the "conquering theory" advocated by the Saigo Takamori, and the era of turbulence that underpinned the new Japan from its conquest to the end of the Satsuma Rebellion. In the description of Saigo living in Tokyo, the residence in "Koamicho" is quite depicted.
It is a feature-length edition with 4 volumes in complete collection and 10 volumes in Bunshun Bunko, but I recommend reading it.
