The World of Copper Prints

There are many galleries in the Ginza area, and as expected, it is a city that fosters culture.
When I go to the Chuo-ku Tourism Association or on my way to Ginza from my workplace, here too! I will pass in front of the gallery where the solo exhibition is being held.

This is an announcement of a copperplate print exhibition held at one of such galleries.

Copperplate Printing Technique Mezotint

In 2019, I saw this artist's work for the first time. He was exhibited at the Shunyo Exhibition (sponsored by the Shunyokai, an exhibition of paintings and prints, at the National Art Center), and was attracted to the delicate touch and transparency.
It seems that there are various techniques for copperplate engraving, but Mr. Miura's technique called mezotint. Mezotint is a technique (Monosugo-a simple explanation by Mr. Miura) that uses countless scratches on the surface of the copper plate and then polishes it, and expresses the light and darkness in a subtle gradient.
Why don't you take a look at the world of light and shadow created by Miura?

The venue, Galli Shane https://galeriechene.com/jp/index.html, has a very open glass surface facing the road, and you can see several works from outside.
I'm a timid, so I can't straddle the threshold without the feeling of "I want to buy this today!" Not only in the gallery (laughs), but for some reason I put this gallery quickly. The solo exhibition at that time was a painting of contemporary art, but it may have been drawn by the brightness and liveliness of the work.

I think the appreciation of the works at the gallery will give you moisture to tomorrow.
Miura-san's copperplate engraving, if you want to take it home at a glance ... What should I do?
