Exhibition of the Sanno Festival, "I feel the best and the best"

On the front stage on the first floor of the main building of Nihonbashi Takashimaya S.C., the portable shrine and Hanoi of the Sanno Festival are displayed beautifully. Looking at this exhibition, I felt excited and excited after a long time. I felt that the spirits of the Edo children, who were dressed in half coats and carried the portable shrine, were transmitted.

Hie-jinja Shrine, which was known as "Sanno-sha" in the old days as a god of Edo's birth, and has been widely worshiped from the Tokugawa Shogunate to the common people as a god of protection of Edo Castle. It is a festival of.

Since the time of the third shogun, Iemitsu, floats and rows of portable shrine were allowed to enter Edo Castle, and it became a grand "Tenka Matsuri" where successive generals worship and worship.

The Sanno Festival, the Kanda festival (Kanda Myojin), and the Fukagawa Hachiman Festival (Tomioka Hachimangu Shrine), is one of the three major festivals in Japan, along with the Gion Festival (Yasaka-jinja Shrine in Kyoto) and the Tenjin Festival (Osaka Tenmangu Shrine).

At the time of the fifth shogun Tsunayoshi, the festival was held every other year alternately with Kanda festival due to the delivery of the first year of Tenwa (1681), which is said to be the pioneer of frugality orders.

Exhibition of the Sanno Festival, "I feel the best and the best"

This year's Sanno Festival was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but each town council decided to hold the event at their own discretion. Under these circumstances, two portable shrine units (2-chome street on the left and Edobashi association on the right) are displayed on both sides of the stage on the first floor of the main building of Nihonbashi Takashimaya S.C., and the half of the Nihonbashi Rokunobe Association on the right are displayed on the stage. Now, it's just as if the stage for the Edo kids has been set up, and the place where they can show off their wings has been revived.
